Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...
Mc-Master Carr does not show you what their shipping charges are and show that the shipping charges are inclusive of the final charge. When you pay online, they show how much your credit card will be charged and then charge you more. So when I received my receipt two days later, I was shocked that the amount charged was nearly double! I called to complain and they simply said, too bad! No apology, no refund. I'm pretty sure it's not even legal (definitely unethical) to say that a final charge is one amount, then charge more without your consent!

We apologize that you were surprised by the shipping charges on your order. The order confirmation we e-mailed to you stated that any applicable shipping charges and tax would be added to the order.
McMaster-Carr is a business-to-business supplier, although we do accept some orders from individuals. Most of the businesses that use our web site have worked with us for years. Many use their own carriers for transportation, or are familiar with the delivery charges for our items, so we dont show transportation charges on-line. If someone without their own carrier account places an order with us, we charge UPS ground rates for shipping.
