MDG Computer Canada Consumer Beware Oakville Ontario

The ad was simple and deviously deceiving. "Everyone is approved", "easy financing", "pay off your balance at anytime", "low interest rates."  Mule muffins! I nearly fall for their trap until I started questioning the terms and conditions of the contract. They do not accept money orders. They want access to YOUR financial history. They want to see YOUR sources of income. They reserve the right to set payment terms. If you agree to these conditions you had just given them a blank check to your money. I want to set a conditional fixed payment plan of eighteen months to purchase a laptop computer from them. I calculated the item I had chosen was quite competitive and affordable. The retail price was around $600 which is a good price for a new laptop. Given $100 for S&H plus interest and other charges, this sounds fair to me. MDG turned around and offer me a contract of $1265! This is more than 150% over the retail price! I wanted them to help me set up a budget so I can pay it off as soon as possible. They dismissed my requests. They insisted on a biweekly payment plan. They insisted on forty eight month payment terms. If you do the math, forty eight months of 19.8% compound interest to pay for a $700 product is not $1300! It is closer to $20,000! They disregarded my request for $75 per month. They wanted to charged me $29.85 as first payment and $30.23 in sequential payments! They had the nerve to tell me to pay a minnal five payments as "deposits" or I can avoid the deposit by giving them five percent of the balance. They had moved me to their "verification" process, another word for stalling, while they "check my background and credibility." I draw the line when they wanted access to my sources of income. This has nothing to do with paying for a product I hadn't seen yet. My spending history has nothing to do with buying a product! I know the verification proedures. They usually provide you with an answer within forty eight hours. MDG is a ripoff and a scam. You're better off saving your money and purchasing a product at full price at the cashier check out. Their "only pennies per day" for their lines of products are also very deceiving and misleading. Beware of them. I strongly suggest everyone who read this message to boycott MDG products immediately!
