I work in LaPlata Md, not Baltimore. It is illegal to install used converters, which is why I said there would be no paperwork. You claim to have paperwork showing the converters were installed, so that pretty much rules out their being used.

This still fails to dismiss the FACT that YOU were not the person Meineke had as the customer. The "fellow from baltimore" was.

You have no warranty, because YOU were not the customer.

Robert from Meineke in Baltimore Maryland responded to the complaint I filed regarding the catalytic converters they installed that are the wrong converters for the vehicle and failed within three thousand miles complaint by saying this:

"Converters fail for one reason(other than road damage)...poor running condition of the engine. If yours are not working correctly, fix the engine. It is illegal to install used converters on a vehicle, so if it was done, there would be no reciept. The guy who sold you the car apparently brought his own parts to the Meineke, and they marked up the labor so the job was worth doing by the mechanic...just like ALL shops do."

So, Robert from Meineke, you are saying that your Meineke installed two used converters on the Trooper, as evidenced by my receipt? Did you say in the next breath that this is also illegal? Would it be the EPA that regulates this? Shall you call them or shall I? Why is the Baltimore Meineke location's information all over the warrantees for the converters? So what you have admitted to is installing used converters that we purchased through Meineke. wow, this is getting very interesting. I'll be right back. I have some phone calls to make.

The vehicles engine is/ was in spectacular working order before you installed that wrong converters on it. Perhaps if there is any resulting damage to the vehicle because of the shoddy work I will file a claim for this too.

"Purchased car from fellow in Baltimore MD, part of purchase deal was to have two catalytic converters who needed replacement replaced. He took it to the Meineke Muffler in Parkville/MBaltimore Maryland. they replaced the catalytic converters - but installed and sold him one new one, one old one. Neither one of them were the appropriate converters for the vehicle. They used multiple extra fitting and pipes to make something that shouldn't have been intalled fit. The Oxygen sensor was then placed in the wrong place.
Just under 3,000 miles, once the vehicle was in New York, the engine light came on. diagnostics showed that the converters were not functioning properly. We noticed unusually low gas mileage as well.

We contacted a local Meineke in Hamburg, NY who confirmed out diagnosis. However, the sales receipt from the original Meineke lacked some pertinent info - such as the store location and number. He promised to work it out with corporate and fix the problem. However, after 4 weeks of calls, I realized that nothing was being done to remedy the situation. I asked for the paperwork back- warrantees for the converters and original bill, which I received.

I called the corporate office myself hoping to peacefully resolve this with replacements. Much to my surprise, their 'customer Service' rep, we'll call her 'Hadrian' said that we were out of luck. First, she accused the fellow who iriginally brought the car in of bringing in his own bad catalytic converters and having them installed.
Next 'Hadrian' said that Meineke doesn't warrantee their work if the car changeds hands."

This is from your original complaint. Now you claim YOU were Meineke's customer. The problem is, the paperwork does not show that. It shows the "fellow from Baltimore" was.

Go ahead and sue. You'll lose.
