I visited the hospital in person and met with the social worker in the financial area to plead nonpayment due to disability and low income. One bill was written off and another sent to an aggressive collection agency.
After writing to the Attoeney General of Florida and receiving a letter stating that the hospital refused to respond to the AG letter, I attempted to reach Mercy Hospital Miami by phone to no avail. This is the result of attepmtting to sent them an email via their website.

Evidently even thought this hospital was purchased by a consortium in 2011 incompetence runs rampant. This is a religious hospital with little Jesus idols in every room. How about you live according to what you preach over there?

Your report makes no sense!! Where you in the hospital for days/weeks/months?? Do you have insurance or do you not?? If you are low income then Medicaid (depending on your income) application would have been filled out with the Social Worker.
BUT remember Medicaid does not pay 100%. So that is the reason for the confusion. IF you are disabled and low income what is the reason you can afford internet services but cannot make payments on a hospital bill?
You seem to forget that hospitals have expenses as well!
