"even though my account was A1 standing i just paid it off"

You said that you "paid it off" means you did not pay them what you owed within the time frame of contract! In other words, you might have been sent to a collection on what you owed. Later you were forced to pay it off, but they have already closed your account because of your history! If I were a creditor, I would do the same because you have lost trust when you did not pay it on time in the first place.

How exactly...

How exactly is this a trap?? You either applied or was pre approved. If they cancelled your card after one use then new information popped up that made you ineligable for that card. Its not a trap, its just you must NOT have the amount of credit you think or there was some other problem that came up. Instead of making a LIE POST dont you think YOU should do your due diligance and find out WHY it was cancelled. You may have identity theft happening to you RIGHT NOW!! If your credit is as good as you alude to then this should have been a red flag for you to inviestgate further. But why do that when you can blast them for taking away the card that allows you to live beyond your means. No so much easier to make them the bad guys because for some odd reason, they do not want you to have their card.

So instead of either admitting to crappy credit or investigating the issue further, you attempt to use the web to blast them for taking away your shiney. Real bright one here folks....
