No credit card company is going to open a credit card in your name without your authorization. Call the customer service number and select fraud as an option. I am sorry to hear of your condition and the situation with Merrick. However, I don't think the company just out of the blue would select your name and information and open an account. Seems to me that you may be on a mailing list and were sent one of the "Pre-approved" letters. Someone apparently sent this back to the company or called the company with your info and opened the account. I would look at anyone who had access to my mail and personal information. I hope you can get this resolved.
