Merritt Jewelers Took $3000 necklace in for repair. It was stolen. By the jewelers? Refused restitution Pequot Lakes Minnesota

We took a strand of expensive mikimoto pearls into Merritt Jewelers in Pequot Lakes Minnesota for re-stringing. We asked that special care be taken with them since they were real and valuable. They said they would be in the safe except when being worked on.
Three weeks later they called and said the pearls were " lost in the mail". We never knew they would be leaving the store. They said they mailed them to Colorado for expert restringing.This was done without our knowledge or permission.
When we asked to have them replaced, we were told to put the claim on our homeowners insurance.
We are now taking these crooks to court.
