Michael Caprista Took my money and skipped. Tannersville, Pa. Tannersville Pennsylvania

On May 29th 2007, I signed a contract along with Mr. Michael Capri (a.k.a. Michael Caprista) of Vision Renovation & Construction to blacktop a portion of the front of my home. With that contract I gave a check in the amount of $1000, which was a requirement.

I was informed that the estimated date of service would be the week of 6/18 or 6/25/07 and that I would receive a call in advance to set up the exact date. At the end of the second week I called Mr. Capri (Caprista), as I had not received a call from him. He apologized and said he would call me back with a date. I then made more calls to the phone numbers he provided me on 7/9/07 and was met with a hang up and then voice mail. I left messages stating that I wanted to know if the contract would be carried out or if I should cancel.

Mr. Caprista finally returned my call on 7/10/07 and stated that his blacktop operator was ill and that a check was in the mail for the $1000, as he did not have another operator. He emailed me on several occassions claiming that he would meet me somewhere or come to my home to return the funds in cash. He never showed up at the mutually agreed times.

On 8/20/07 I received a call at my home from someone named Allan Luckner. Mr. Luckner said he was the owner of Vision Renovation & Construction. He asked me about Mr. Capri and if I was dealing with him. I believe he was made aware of the situation because I reported the company to the BBB online.

Mr. Luckner informed me that Mr. Capri's real name is Caprista and that he did not work for the company any longer and was not employed by them at the time he came to my home. He also let me know that the check I wrote was not deposited to his business account and that he did not have an account with the bank of deposit.

If this is the same Michael Caprista I saw on Google then I guess I will be added to a long list of victims. He is using different company names to rob people.

Please do some investigating before taking on any kind of project that would involve an unknown outside source. I have learned my lesson the very hard way.
