Beware of LACK OF DISCLOSURE and HIDDEN FEES... My employer plan is supposed to pay for 100% of Braces and other routine work. Unfortunately, Midwestern Dental Plan does not cover Extender and other prosthetics which are common when getting braces. I ended up paying over $1200 for extenders.

Had I known that this was a hidden fee or that I would pay this much for extenders, I would have looked at other dental programs. The receptionist at the office could not give me an answer as to why they were not covered under the insurance. All I kept getting were statement like: "No insurances cover that" "other people would kill for your insurance".

Finally, I was just ignored. I called the main office but all I got were answering machines. I left serval massages asking for a callback but no one retuned my calls. I think this is an unethically business practice by dental plans and maybe the industry as whole. If they know that getting braces usually required getting prosthetics (extenders, bridges etc..) they should not state on their advertising that braces are cover 100%.

Especially when they know that there are those associated hidden fees. This hidden fee practice is misleading and prevents consumers from making more informed decision when choosing a dental palm.

If your "RipOff" is based on the screen shot, your interpetation of what they cover is very innaccurate..

You stated....
My employer plan is supposed to pay for 100% of Braces and other routine work.

From the image...
- 100% Coverage for Preventive and Diagnostics
- Excellent Orthodontic Benefit for both children and adults.

No where in that image does it state that Braces are covered 100%. Braces are considered "Orthodontic" and
not "Preventive" or "Diagnostic".  So they do not fall under that claim of 100% Coverage.  Now, if your employer stated something different and you have that in writting perhaps you have a valid claim. But the claim may be against the employer if they are telling you incorrect information.
