Modern Marketing of san diego ca is affiliated with Cydcor no matter what they may say. Their job postings on all major job search engines deceptively advertise IMMEDIATE MANAGEMENT POSITIONS NEEDED, EXPANDING INTO 7 NEW MARKETS.

The first interview goes well, it lasts approximately 10-15 minutes and every indication leaves one to believe that the position is highly competitive, lucrative, and worthwhile. You may leave feeling confident...but not so fast.

A second interview is schedule known as "Day of O", where you spend a day in the field with another rep. What a minute, in the field? I thought this was a management position?

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and knowing full well that many successful managers possess a well rounded working knowledge of every aspect of the business, you may, like myself, feel compeled to go along with it anyhow.

Here comes the bait and switch! The position you are applying for is actually a door-to-door sales position, selling Quill office supplies. What??? They will claim that this position is temporary and within 3-6 months you will have earned that management position you initially applied for.

However, based upon most of the information i read on this website (because obviously after careful consideration I refused the offer of employment they extended to me) most do not make it to management. The owner Teresa will try to encourage you that her office is run differently, this is not convincing enough because the problem is not solely with Modern Marketing, but their corrupt parent company Cydcor. Think about it, if the HEAD IS SICK...SO IS THE BODY!!!

They operate on what is called the "Law of Averages". Essentially, see as many people as you possibly can, most will turn you away but some may be interested. Those who will listen are refered to as qualified buyers (which is odd because their only qualification, outside of how many employees they have, is that they have time to listen to your weak sales pitch). Out of them some may buy. Here is the point...their sales strategy is identical to their management and marketing tactics. Sell to whoever, most will turn you away, some wont, some will buy, most wont. Hire whoever, most will quit, few make it to management. But then they quit!

Speaking for myself, I choose to stay away. I didn't graduate from college to sell door-to-door paper and ink!!! Modern Marketing should be ashamed for their antics.

Watch Out Atlanta!!

AUTHOR: L - (U.S.A.)

There are also many companies like this in Atlanta as well. (Wentworth Marketing, KSL Concepts, Dynamic Marketing, Global Expectations, FC Wetz Interactive, and JNL Marketing/JNL & Associates). Not all of them do door-to-door sales, but they're all still part of the same big company....CYDCOR. There are many ad's online by all of these companies that may say "management" but they're all beginning sales positions.
