Motorcycle Rider Education is a scam!

AUTHOR: Sarah P. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 17, 2009

Do not trust this horrible company! Not only are their teachers barely qualified to teach motorcycle skills as witnessed by other users from RipOffReport, but they are unbelievably rude and irresponsible. Karina and Angela are the two cranky tramps that run this scam, and both of them are ridiculous. Too bad its one of the only companies offering the CHP motorcycle training in the Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County areas!

I highly recommend that you find a different company at all costs. Not only did they lose my application TWICE, but they lost the fax I sent with my driver's license and then proceed to cancel my class reservation without telling me for reasons unknown after I had already paid by credit card over the phone. Plus, they never sent anything by mail that they had promised with further information about their company and class information.

I changed my entire December schedule and drove 3 hours to get to their class, only to find out I had been removed without explanation. When I called to ask them what the hell was going on, Karina screamed at me that there was nothing she could do except look for classes in January, which is AFTER when my motorcycle permit was going to expire. She then proceeded to hang up on me after I asked her why she didn't care about the reputation of her company.

Well, here you go, fellow Ventura County residents. Hopefully you read this review before signing up with "Motorcycle Rider Education." I wouldn't be surprised if they change the name of their company in the near future after all the horrible feedback on the internet, so watch out!

Motorcycle Safety Foundation

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 05, 2006

Motorcycle Rider Education uses MSF instructors and MSF curriculum. MSF will allow, in accordance with state guidleines, any student who fails the skills evaluation to re-take it at a later date. They also allow, two tries at each portion of the evaluation. Were these students merely taking their second try or was it a completely new test? Did you fail on both attempts of each exercise? If it was the former, that is allowed and if it was the latter, they were correct in refusing you another test on the spot. It is usually recommended that students who fail the test take a couple of lessons and then schedule a re-test. That is what I did and I passed the second test with flying colors.

If you feel that they were wrong and were only allowing certain students to re-take the test, I suggest writing to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. You will need some facts to back it up, date of the class, instuctors names, etc. I do know that MSF instructors will not pass anyone they don't think is ready and have the option to "opt out" any student they don't think have what it takes to ride a motorcycle. They only have your best interest in mind. Without proper education and practice, motorcycling can be very dangerous.
