Signed up for a Groupon with this gym and enjoyed it a lot.

I was then mislead into signing a contract of which there is no way to get out. I told the Manager when I signed it I was here in the U.S temporarily, this was fine at the time as "these contracts can be cancelled if you move from the area", I also mentioned I would be away for the next few months and to hold the fees, however they didn't and still proceeded to charge my Credit Card.

I have since moved completely from the U.S and they still proceed to send letters of debt owed and even had the audacity to pass this to a debt collection agency for $2K!!! this is insanity as the services they offer for 5yrs wouldn't rack up that much!

AVOID this company and their BAD BAD business practices. They lie and cheat and you can read plenty of reviews about their practices.

Personal Training Contract Terms

AUTHOR: District Manager - Core Concepts Pe - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Our contracts may be placed on hold, with a $35 fee, at a maximum of 2 months per contract.  In the event of a Military TDY or Medical Injury, we will waive the fee and extend the hold for a reasonable time.  The client must apply for such hold by signing an "account change form" and have documentation to waive the fee mentioned.  To protect our company, holds will not be instated through simple verbal request.

In the event a customer relocates outside of a 25 mile radius from a Mountainside Fitness facility, and can show proof of such a move, they may "buy-out" of their contractual obligation.  The termination fee for said buy-out is equal to but no more than 25% of the remaining contract balance.  In this case, the client would be eligible for the buy-out.

After two consecutive uncollected bill cycles, the contract is turned over to a collection agency.  The amount turned over to collections is equal to the full contract value of the agreement and includes any fees for costs of collections.  Upon signing the agreement, the buyer agrees to be held responsible for all collections costs.

I would encourage the disgruntled client to reach out by calling our corporate office.  This is an issue that can be easily resolved.
