My 5 year old daughter hit some keys on my key board and somehow downloaded this crap. This is the biggest scam I've ever seen on the internet. How can I contact these scamsters?

This is insane!

For the last 5 hours I have been trying to remove the movieland request for payment pop-up. What a mess!!! Then I came acrossed your web site and all your recommendations. It finally worked! I found a virus/adaware program called Zone Alarm that finally took care of it. Thanks bunches!!

P.S. I think 30 degrees in Phoenix is better than the usual 130 degrees! You guys take care! Thanks again!

Movieland complaints

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 18, 2005

Im going to be sending Movieland a link to the ripoffreports listed here. Maybe its not them "directly" but it could be whomever they "contracted" or hired to do their advertising. And if they are the ones that are "forcing" people to download their Adware/Spyware, then they may want to rethink their advertising partnerships with the companies they are dealing with.

You'd figure with all; the negative publicity of adware/spyware, companies would be a little more selective on whom they hire to advertise for them.

But, to the consumers, it doesn't take a "download" to get adware on your computer. A simple visit to a website, could blindly install these programs to your computer (eg GAIN) and you will be forever inflicted with their mundane advertisements. Making sure that you have the MOST updated browser version, and updating your VIRUS scan program (and hopefully, it has the adware/spyware/pop-up blockers with it) will help you decrease the chance of getting these programs.

And diligent cleaning nad mainteance of your computer systems will help you as well.

As for the warm weather. 66 degrees is our coldest and its a nice windy 86 degrees today. Wish I could bottle it up for you guys!

This one got it right Denny!

Lee is the only person so far that has realized this code WAS downloaded to the computer. The others didn't know or realize they had actually downloaded it, although I'm not sure why as when we went there to look at it last night, you HAD to click on the download button to get it onto your computer.

I was also assuming it was spyware too and once downloaded it does acts like it, but I'm wondering now if it isn't more of a nag screen type thing.

Lee, after you do a check for spyware using something like AdAware, will you please post back and let us know if you were able to get rid of this junk MovieLand put on your computer? Seems quite a few are posting every day now and Denny and I have been trying to help them, but no one has posted back yet to say if they successfully removed it with an adware or anti-virus type program. Thanks.

Denny, send Lee and I some warm weather from your state will you please? I'm freezing and am considering moving somewhere warm like Phoenix. Oh wait, I already live there. Nevermind. Sheesh, in the low 30's last night here.

Movieland has been discussed.
basically its adware/spyware.
download a spyware / adware cleaner for your computer.

movieland isn't doing anything to you or your finances, and are not certainly ripping anyoen off

just people who have bad internet security settings on their computer.
