MSI Canada is a spin-off from Federated Payments located in New York. Though the name is different, the website and contact information is identical. Though it is well known this company scams merchants, they also scam the sales reps that they employ. It appears the company is thrying to get away from its bad rep by switching names and websites. Scott Avery who has been named the chief liar and scam artist now calls himself scott glazer (sglazer@fpsemail.com). Even using the email domian the same Federated Payments. The contract is confusing and contradicts what they tell you as a potential sales rep. They advertise that an average rep can make up to $10,000/mnth and actually dont pay you for anything. And if you do set up the merchant account, they will charge them for all sorts of fake charges and blame it on the sales rep, saying that reps work independent of the company. The company is posting job ads all over the internet ((((Redacted))) etc) saying you will earn $80,000-$120,000 as an inexperienced sales person. Be weary of this scam or you could potentially defrauding others without any compensation. For those that have been previously scammed by scott avery, you can reach him on his new cell phone 516-807-3937. This is a new york cell number which he plays off as his business contact #.

YOu could be in very serious legal matters if you work these peoples. 


They are using the name "CANADA" very good


bottom line is...dont let this $100k/year suck you in.

MSI SCAM FRAUD INCOMPETENT ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES

MSI Canada, AKA Merchant Services Inc Canada, AKA Federated Payments Canada Corp. All have the same registered published address located at A301 1 St. Paul Street St. Catherines, ON. This address does not exist nor is this company operating in Canada legally. They have 'managers' based out of New York who hire, manage and control employees in Canada. They are members of the BBB and remain in good standing by coercing complainants by hiring a lawyer based out of Montreal who sends a demand letter trying to extort $50,000 in my case. The BBB will NOT investigate complaints involving legal matters so the lawyer is a clever way of eliminating any black marks on the BBB file, thus retaining their standing. To date, I am owed $11,651 by this company for outstanding commissions and wages. I have already filed with the Employment Standards Branch to receive my overdue compensation from December 2009! The law in Canada is that ALL commissioned employees and or contractors must be paid at least minimum wage if commissions do not reach this amount. This is the LAW! Plus, this company has fraudulently changed the terms and conditions of every contract that I signed up with my customers for MSI (totalling 26). As incentives I offered each customer a certificate or coupon that had a signficant value to sign up with me. I would release these coupons which cost me money when I received commissions from MSI. I never released the coupons because I never received any commissions from December 1. I clearly wrote on the terms of the contract on the first page the value and quantity of said coupons. My customers received copies of contracts with these removed. I have the original copies as evidence. Beware of signing up with MSI and working for them as a company. If you did work or currently do work for them, be advised that by LAW you must get at least minimum wage if you do not sell anything or up to this amount. If you have a claim, just Google Employment Standards Canada and file a complaint. If you have been a victim as a customer email the BBB corporate office. xMSI

MSI Canada the Truth for Both Job Seekers and Merchants

I am also a former employee of MSI Canada and would like to clarify a fews things:

First there is nothing Canadian about MSI Canada except for the word Canada try calling their toll free nember leave a messge and you will get a call from a New York state numder and yes MSI Canada and Federaeted Payments are both in New York and have almsot identical Websites.

As for what MSI's Marketing Diretor has stated about Mr. Drizzle working for MSI all MSI Agents are not employed by the company and therefore only MSI customers are affiliated by MSI. I too have worked for MSI and am therefor not affiliated with the company because I was an indepentdant agent.

MSI Canada does not have 250 sales agents Federated Payments does and the 25,000 satisfied customers belong to Ferated Payments not MSI Canada and most of the satisfied customers are in the U.S. and not Canada.

In conclusion:

JOB SEEKERS; if you don't mind working for a "boiler room" type of company where you never meet any of your coworkers or even employer and only deal with everyone via telephone or email but beware I have found everyone at MSI Canada (who are actually working out of an office some where in New York) to be very good at with holding the truth and leaving out very important peices of information and I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO WORK FOR MSI CANADA. If you do want to work for the Merchant Service Industry contact a well know finacial institution or Bank.

MERCHANTS; if you are looking for merchant servicers contact any Canadian Bank or ask the people you do business with like your barber, butcher, dry clearner etc. who they use and recomend and you will truly receive the best service and not have to be worried about being ripped off.  I DO NOT RECCOMEND USING MSI CANADA FOR MERCHANT SERVICES your are much safer with going with any Canadian bank and don't believe their sales people tell you about getting better rates and saving money the truth is that most Banks have very good rates and if you need a better rate just do what most people do and ask.  If you are a long time customer in good standing most banks will give you a break on your rate.

As the CEO of Merchant Services Inc (MSI) Canada, I would personally like to address this slanderous and completely false accusation.

The core of our business is the small business merchant; the mom and pop shops. As we are all too aware in these economic times, these businesses come and go all the time while frequently switching processors. Since our founding 10 years ago, we have serviced over 100,000 merchant customers. When dealing with that kind volume, there will inevitably be some folks who will never be content no matter what steps you take to ensure their satisfaction. In fact, having this small smattering of disparaging remarks given the sheer mass of customers we support actually sets us far above in satisfaction in comparison to the majority of companies regardless of the industry.

In addition, as one of the leading processors in the U.S. and Canada, MSI Canada has employed as many as 5,000 independent sales and support representatives. In many cases, these can be temporary positions with a high turnover rate with individuals who simply do not produce or feel this is not the right situation for them. As a business owner with companies that perhaps have a much smaller staff than MSI Canada employs, I am sure that you have personally seen your share of disgruntled workers. Unfortunately, in both these cases, the Internet provides this handful of discontented individuals a platform to post negative comments without any need for validation or proof.

Here are the facts:

-  MSI Canada currently services and supports over 25,000 satisfied merchant customers in both the U.S. and Canada.

- We are accredited members of the Better Business Bureau in Canada and the U.S.

- As a VISA/Master Card, American Express and Discover certified processor, we are under very stringent industry regulations which we must and do uphold on a daily basis.

- MSI Canada is PCI compliant which means our solutions meet the highest possible levels of security set forth by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

-  Named one of the Top 50 Credit Card Processing Companies two years running

-  Named Fastest Growing Processor in the U.S. in 2007.

MSI Canada breach of contract, fraud, illegal business activity

Attention: MSI Sales Reps

I have left MSI due to a failure to pay commissions and failure to comply to contract terms and conditions for my customers; plus

Possible fraudulent activity and illegal MLM or pyramid schemes as this is their business model. They have Regional managers each with 20 reps and make an 8% cut off each.

Imagine each manager not paying 20 reps for one month at $5000 per rep (That's $100K per manager) and with turnover, it could be quite a lucrative scam. Unathorized and illegal employment by a foreign company managers as all corporate executives and managers originate outside of Canada;

Possible identity theft as my personal information is with the company; There is no physical address for MSI as their registered corporate address is the registered legal address for only Federated Payments, and Stanmark Merchant Services.

We are investigating with a D&B, corporate seach and having a realtor visit the office;

Since starting at MSI on September 17, 2009, I have been quite sucessfull in closing many deals with several pending. In fact, I closed over $5M in my first 2 months and would have closed another $10M (or 50 accounts) this month. However, in light of the fact that I have not been paid for any deals since November, save a few, I am not confident that MSI will comply with the terms of the contract.

I am working with WGM law in Vancouver, who have suggested that I file 3 separate statements of claim in Supreme Court.

1. A claim for my commissions owed. Non payment and inaccurate payments based on Schedule A of the contract.

2. A claim on behalf of my clients for breach of contract. Failure to deliver, changed contract terms.

3. A claim on behalf of MSI reps as a class action suit. I will be serving MSI at their registered address, contacting the RCMP for fraud investigation, contacting the CRA (I used to be an auditor) to investigate the business, and my lawyer will contact CIBC (the ombudsman, actually) and Global Payments.

Slanderous and Completely Untrue!

In response to this unfortunate rant, let us state just the facts:

Lie: Scott Avery and Scott Glazer are the same people.

TRUTH: Scott Avery and Scott Glazer are two DIFFERENT people, not the same person as this rather confused individual has falsely stated. Scott Glazer is an owner of a totally separate independent sales organization who we wholesale our services to for MSI Canada. Scott Avery is the Senior Vice President of Sales for both MSI Canada and Federated Payments. (Note: MSI Canada is Federated Payments company name when operating in Canada.)

Lie: We guarantee $10,000/month commission

TRUTH: When soliciting external sales representatives, we do not guarantee any specific income. As anyone knows, in a commission only sales position, the income is obviously based on the sales skills and abilities of the representative. When stated it is possible to make up to $10,000 a month , it is very common for our sales reps to make between $70,000 and $120,000 if they know how to produce and close a deal. However, there salary is NEVER guaranteed.

Lie: We dont pay a thing.

TRUTH: We clearly pay commissions due or we wouldnt have up to 250 independent sales reps in our network at any given time. Obviously, commission based sales people do not get paid if they dont sell anything.

Lie: We scam merchants

TRUTH: Federated Payments has over 25,000 satisfied merchant customers due to the fact we hold ourselves to the highest standards. Additionally, we are held to very stringent guidelines through Visa/MasterCard, American Express and Federal banking guidelines. Check us out on BBB and Chamber of Commerce St. Catherines.

Lie: Lawrence Dizzle worked for MSI Canada.

TRUTH: No one by the name of Lawrence Dizzle (obviously a joke name) has ever been employed by or affiliated with MSI Canada or Federated Payments. If any of these claims are true, why not use your real name. Simple, these claims are untrue and leave themselves open to a slanderous legal suit.

Unfortunately, as any business knows, when you are a successful organization with a large network of independent sales organizations, you leave yourself open to negative comments by those who do not perform up to company standards. Most likely he probably was one of our agents that started for a few days and quit. This has sadly become common practice for an inexperienced sales agent who cant close a deal.
