The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Maureen Tara Nelson during an onsite inspection held by a third-party verification company with no biases towards MTN Matchmaking.

MTN Matchmaking is a matchmaking service that is dedicated to helping people find a healthy and lasting relationship. Maureen Tara Nelson stated the following about her company, "We have a very thorough screening process we are not for everyone. And I can’t accept everyone because if I did I would be like the other companies that have been out there that have all gone out of business for doing the wrong thing. My model is to do a criminal felony background check in every state on all of my clients. Then as the owner, they come to me and meet with me personally and I give them a free consultation because I need to make sure that I think I can help them. The screening process when I meet with them I make sure that everyone is a nice decent, quality, positive person, emotionally stable. I am an executive level certified matchmaker and there are only a few of us in the country."

Leads for MTN Matchmaking are primarily obtained through television appearances on NBC, CBS, HBO, and A&E. Additionally, they advertise through print, commercials, and social media. Ms. Nelson proceeded to explain the sales and services process for her clients, "What a client can expect is a free consultation where I go through the screening process with them. Then they come in and I have to get to know their personality to the point that I am matching them with 3 parts of compatibility. This is my own private method I do it by hand I don't do it by a computer algorithm. On the interview, they will know about the screening process and how I do the matching by 3 parts of compatibility. They also have homework to do before they come in they have to think about what their 5 best qualities are. Then they have to think of what the 5 must haves are for the man or woman. They are also asked to wear something nice because if they like the program I will take their photo. So, I meet with them for an hour but the longest interview I have had was 4 hours because sometimes. I do a tiny personality test at my home office. Everyone leaves here with a packet that goes over all the information of what we go over here. They get a welcome letter, they get a letter on what to expect as a client and the most important thing is a list of do’s and don't s in dating. Then once they tell me Yes I love the program then we go over the different program. I have 5 programs for them to choose from ranging in price from $995 up to a celebrity program as well. If a person is celebrity lives here on Long Island my prices are $6500 which may seem like a lot to a person who is an accountant let's say but they won't pay that unless they are a celebrity. And then I go into how it works. If a person is compatible in 3 ways as well as having the 5 must-haves they will get an email on Tuesday evenings with the person's photo and a little bio about them and their only job is to say yes or no."



CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – MTN MATCHMAKING

MTN Matchmaking was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Ms. Nelson explained that there are no guarantees in the matchmaking world. She additionally stated, "I will always do my best I will match you appropriately and make sure they have your 5 must haves but there are things I do not have control over. I do not have control over if a woman or man say yes to each other. I don't have control over if you go out on a date with a man and you are very nasty to the wait staff. Those are on you and those are the ones that complain. I bring them back to the point of what it was like to date without Maureen? So with people, there are times that they come in and they are unhappy. If they tell me about it soon I can fix it but there are some people that they came in acting positively and they were not. I can’t help people like that. If they are patient, open-minded, and positive I can help them."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Ms. Nelson expressed that the comments made were false and didn't align with her business model. Ms. Nelson stated the follow to assure future and current clients, "I am an executive level certified matchmaker and there are only a few of us in the country and that is through the Institute of Matchmaking. Then they will see every year we win Dan’s papers which is primarily Suffolk county here on Long Island for best dating service. What they factor in is Match.com and every kind of dating service out there. These awards are people that vote in. I am up against Tinder and all those swipe apps. For Nassau and Suffolk county combined there is the biggest award for every business owner. I think there are 3000 categories of businesses. What they do is they pick the top 3 that people vote in for. Every year I have come in the top 3. We were just notified this year that we came in first place. We are super excited because that is huge! I have citations from controllers on long island...the politicians...the county clerks. They can't be bought off and these are people in the community that have said hey there is a matchmaker here on Long Island who goes above and beyond for her clients and has given me awards. I have an A+ rating with the BBB. I am also a certified wedding officiant."

Maureen Tara Nelson is the biggest rip off I have encountered. Since May of 2013 I entered Maureen's office where she was very professional in promoting her matchmaking company and promising me success. Famous last words. From that point on until this moment it has been nothing but problems, broken promised, offensive cutomer service  and lies. I was told by Maurren that she personaly creates each match based on her data. She sat with me for over an hour convincing me to join her "Elite" srvice for $4500.00. AFter my first postive encounter it all went doen hill. My first match was handome, however not interested. Fine and I didn't exprect success on the first match. After that the matches that were sent were not what I had discussed look wide in her office. Then a few weeks went by where I didn't recive a match nor follow up. After numeros phone calls. i recieved a phone call back by Geri yelling at me and as well as stating "Well MAureen has breast cancer and there are more important things to worry about" Yes, i do undertand and have dealt with cancer in my family. However,buisness is business and someone should have bee allocated to take care of the cleint list. Secondly, I was then dealing with Danielle who i shared my concern and gave MTN the benefit of the doubt to receive matches all of none who were interested. I am an attravive woman andfind it hard to beleive no one was interested!! Then weeks would go by where I was not receiving matches again calling and then receiving  the same matches that I had declined. Some of the matches that were interestd (3) were out of the country??? Really, at that point I was getting the runaround and emails were not being answered. Phone were submitted on a daily basis always with an exscuse that Danielle was out of the office or Geri was with another client.  (I have records of the phone calls) While away in Europe I called Danielle several times as well as emailed and no response. Finally, sent my third letter stating that I have not received the service that I was promised and wanted my money back. Maureen called and left a message explaing that Danieel was stealing from the company! Again not my problem. I paid for a service and I did not recieve it. I gave the agency 5 months to prove themselves and fix the wrong. There is insurance for employee issues such as stealing. I don't need a detailed report of what transpired in the office. Very unprofessional. Then Maureen sends me a match that did not fit my category of what i am looking for. I sat with her for over an hour expalining what I wanted in a match. This match did not fit my description looks wise as well as phyique wise.

This is a very unprofessional company in how they deal with theri clients and honeslty a farse.

This client, now ex-client is complaining about the fact she didn't like the service she received while I was out on medical leave. Please read my response.

 Dear Readers,

Thank you for taking the time to read what has happened with this particular client. I have been very open and honest with my clients, the media, the press, and anyone who asks about the fact that in June 2013 I underwent a very serious breast cancer surgery. I have a wonderful staff that took over for me. Gerry who is also my sister, is the most professional woman you could ever meet. I receive compliments on her every day. The other girl who she mentions unfortunately did steal from my company during my medical leave, and did not preform the necessary service that I insist on (since I run my business like a boutique.) Once I found out this information, I returned right back to work, earlier than doctor's orders, and "let her go." I then replaced her with the finest staff Lisa and Suzanne! Things are now finally back to normal now.

I would first like to thank my 99% of my clients for all your kindness and understanding during this very difficult time for me. Obviously it was unexpected, but now I am cancer free, and feeling even healthier than before my surgery. I also would like to thank my plastic surgeon Dr Korn who was amazing and has me looking even before than before the breast cancer.

Unfortunately very, very few clients did not like the fact that I was out on medical leave. I have personally spoken to almost all 1200 of my clients and even offered free time for the time that I was out if they were not satisfied. Again, 99% of my clients are positive, caring people that realize since I run my company like I high end boutique, and interview my clients personally in my Long Island office, and personally do Hand selected matches based upon 3 parts of compatibility, and then make sure they have the 5 "must haves" that my clients want, that obviously while I was out on medical leave, I did have to put someone else in charge of their service. Again, if anyone was unhappy with that service for the short period of time, I personally made that up to them.

This is obviously one of the 1% of my clients that is using the fact that I wasn't able to personally service her to her very high expectations and instead of working with me, like I would have done, has chosen a very negative report which is filled with slander. In her case, since she has lied about many of the comments, I must have my attorney handle the situation of her losing her membership due to these false comments. However my response is different for men and women:

Men, this ex-client even states that the first match was a very handsome guy and he declined her. That got her angry. Then the time I was out on medical leave, I dealt with the best way I knew how, and again is fine with 99% of my clients. She also mentions the last match I gave her wasn't up to her standards in looks. He was a great looking man, who also declined her. While I was laid up my staff would report to me that she would call the office stating that she and her friends were laying in the sun at her beach house talking about the lack of service she felt she was receiving while I was laid up. I promise you (all men reading this), that she was the only client in my vast database that ever showed this type of nature. All my other female clients are beautiful, smart, kind, understanding, and do not act "entitled." They truly are the BEST of the BEST Single ladies in New York and Long Island. In fact, the most beautiful ladies in my program would never even say how beautiful they are. All I ask of you is to come in to my office to see personally for yourself for your free consultation. I get compliments every day from my men on how I have the most beautiful women, both inside and out!!! Thank you for listening.

Ladies, please decide for yourself about coming in for a free consultation with me if you are single and looking for an upscale matchmaking service that has the greatest men in New York and Long Island. Yes it is unfortunate that for a few months I had to be laid up after having breast cancer surgery, but I am back now, full force, with a fantastic staff, with only positivenes in my life. All the men in my program have been amazing during this time. When I have apologized to them for being out and having to have put someone else in charge, they all have stopped me and said they were sorry for what I had to go through. Not one complaint from all my amazing men. Unfortunately the 1% of my clients who were unhappy that I had to be out on medical leave were all women, I did end up working it out with them if they were real complaints. I wish I could make every single person successful in my program! I try...I do have over 1000 success stories of which I just stopped counting after 1000, since no other service has come close to my record. I also even with the few unhappy women who didn't care I was out from breast cancer, I still have the lowest amount of complaints of any other service. So please come in for your free consultation and meet me yourself. My screening process is: all my clients are nice, decent, quality people, who are both emotionally and financially stable, and who are all looking for a committed relationship.

Thank you all for reading. I have been successfully matchmaking singles for over 13 years. I do take every complaint very seriously. My clients have been amazing through this difficult time, but I assure you all I am 100% healthy and back to working 70 hours a week because I am blessed with what I do every day! I have the greatest singles in the entire New York area and have been nominated again for Best Matchmaker for this year (voting has begun) and have been nominated for Best Matchmaker in Suffolk County as well!

I am also in the process of starting up a non profit breast cancer program for women with breast cancer who own their own businesses. I can assure you that having even one client use that to try to damage your reputation is absolutely the hardest hardship of being a business owner. If I can get through this, I want to help others get through this as well. It is a shame, but this is life now. I hear the same thing from all my friends that own their own businesses. It is easier to write a complaint than to pick up the phone and ask for help. But again, that is what a negative person does. There is no negativity in my program or in my life!
