I was just served papers this morning from Mullooly Jeffrey Rooney & Flynn, L.L.P.
They are sueing me for a debt of $3,208.22 that was settled in 2013 with Sharinn & Lipshie, P.C.
I do not know why I can be sued for a debt that I have already paid, or why the onus is on me to show up in court to prove that it's been paid.
Since I just received the sumons today, March 4, 2015, I plan to contact the NY State Attorney General's office on Monday, plus the lawyer who helped me settle the debt.
