HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE My Econo 39.95 Optical Location: 903 E Bitters Rd, San Antonio, TX. Tel: 210-495-3995 I am a senior citizen and live on a fixed income. My family including my grandchildren have used My-Econo many times in the past under the old ownership. I had a new prescription that I wanted to have filled in a pair of glasses that I own. They were happy to do that. I told her the glasses were for work on the computer. (she later said I did not tell her that, bu I mentioned it several times) She told me they would be ready the next day, before I picked them up I cal;led and asked her what about the anti glare she said that was 60.00 extra, I told her to please to that. She made arrangement for that to happen. That it would take an extra 3-5 days, but was ready the next day.

I picked up my glasses and for a week I could not see out of the glasses and seemed like it was foggy. I took them to another vender with a copy of RX. They said that the lenses they put in were to thick (they were thick and stuck out outside the frame). That one of the lens had the wrong prescription in it. I had them fix it as I did not now trust My econo so they made new lenses with the right RX. I use my glasses a lot and needed them correct. They had it ready in a couple of hours. They also said that I should take the lens back to where I got them as they were very wrong and the lens were way to thick) my new lens are nice and thin. I went back took the lens back to My Econo where I got them off of Bitters and asked what we can do. I had paid $110.00 CASH as they requested (so they would not charge tax). The lady who is very nice called her boss. They said they have NO REFUND policy. I asked if I could just get a pair of glasses with the right RX and lens that were not so thick. (I have single vision nothing special) it had only been 2 weeks when I got the glasses. That they did not have to put the anti stuff ($60.00 I paid for this) in place of cheap frames. With NO REFUND I thought a spare pair would be OK and just hoped they would fill the RX correct. They said after a lecture they would fill the RX with new frames, I asked for the cheapest frames. I had the lady pick them since the frames are not priced and just wanted cheap. I did not care for the ones she picked but I thought OK just to get something for the $110.00 I spent. She called her supervisor who said It would cost me $29.00 for the frames and to pay again but at a reduced price for the anti reflective coating $20.00 more.. This is for a total of $49.00. cash of course. I told the lady that does not make since as they advertise $39.95 glasses for an entire pair of glasses. She said that is for those glasses a small selection at the back of the store. I told the lady never mind and she could just keep the bad lenses.

I left the store in tears. I do not know how they can sleep at night. FIRST they filled my glasses with a wrong prescription (OK human error) I just wanted an extra pair of glasses no frills to make up for their mistake. I have paid $110.00 (CASH ONLY) ...and they will not charge you tax) (there is something wrong there) but then to try and over charge for their mistake. I will file complaints with BBB and Attorney Generals office for Elder abuse. I wonder if the sales tax office would be interested in this. I have nothing for the $110.00 I paid.... NOTHING just down the drain.
