security in place to make sure your password is changed? this is a rip-off?

AUTHOR: n2news - ()

POSTED: Sunday, December 01, 2013

please please try and explain to me how AS A SECURITY MEASURE we forced people to change their passwords.  How in ANY was can you describe N2News & Twhiting ONLY looking out for you and your online security and safety with N2News.  You had a lifetime you explain, then 1 year later, the system asked you to change your password.  Where is the rip off?

Didn't you just READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, and change your password?  N2News is NOT the only company that does this by a long shot, infact.  Hotmail has the option to change your password each 72 days?

So is Microsoft ripping you off when you're asked to change your password for security purposes?  NOT AT ALL, because MOST people including the other 40,000 paying members simply READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Please change your password as the old one has now expired, then you type in to 3 boxes, 1. your password, 2 & 3 your new choice for a password.

PLEASE PLEASE EXPLAING TO ME HOW TAKING SECURITY MEASURES TO HELP PROTECT YOU AS A MEMBER AND YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION BY HAVING YOU CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD EACH 1400 days of so somehow is a scam and ripping you off?  you didn't pay for a password that never changes.  you paid for a membership to a private FTA forum.

THE WORD BEING "PRIVATE".  Private forums are meant more for people who don't want to weed through 3/4 of a page of advertisements to get the help they need.  Some people would and DO appreciate what N2News did by keeping an EXTREMELY tight knit community without swearing or "put downs".  We always kept the forums completely drama free and strictly about getting the exact help you need.

IF the free forums were so so much better then how come you didn't join them?  i'll take a wild guess.  in a forum that's free with 1M+ members, who governs them?  Who says enough is enough when someone is being pointed out for asking a question that "other" conceided people think is a stupid question and all of a sudden, you asking ONE SIMPLE QUESTION is now this 20 page debate with insults, swearing, and no true answer to be found.  Just a bunch of no-it-alls duking it out and being little drama starters just confusing the beginner more.

So, if 3/4 of the site being ADVERTISEMENTS, you have to find the 1/4 that isn't and then battle it out because your question is not up to the calibre of what other members say a question should be?

NONESENSE... there's no question too big or too small.  Everyone starts somewhere.  And that's why we may of had our issues (ie:  asking you to change your password once a year)  but we had MANY MANY more benefits for the beginner, learner, and enthusiast who didn't want to waste his days arguing a bunch of cocky "forum cool" pricks.

not a 'rip off' at all

Forcing someone to change their password is pretty standard any more. If you're not receiving emails from the system, that's not on us, that's on the email provider. All emails are automated, and plenty of providers reject this type of mail, because they want to. WE cannot provide assistance for your internet email provider, that's just ridiculous to assume
