A tele-marketer called me at home and pressured me into signing up for NADN's services. I did so reluctantly. The same day I called their customer service and expressed a wish not to pursue the matter further. They told me that I couldn't cancel telephonically and that I had to send a fax. This I did on the 10/21/2002.

This morning I logged onto my credit card account and found that they had disregarded my request and debited my account. I have subsequently sent another fax asking them to credit my account.

After reading the other rip-off reports I am very anxious that I wont see my money. I am a relatively new immigrant and I am disgusted at their blatant disregard of my request.

I have received absolutely nothing from them. Not even a phone call.

telemarketing scams in nevada ..Our laws in nevada are on the telemarketers side - Becareful.

AUTHOR: T - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 11, 2003

I live here in Nevada and am aware of lots of telemarketers that do business here. Our laws in nevada are on the telemarketers side - Becareful.

They constantly change ownerships and names. Government in Nevada doesn't take notice and doesn't care. My telephone rings off the hook from telemarketers yet I have a unlisted number and have requested to be taken off there lists.

They are in abundance here and are always looking for employees. Most of there emmployees end up not getting paid because the company is open one day and closed the next with no one having the knowledge where they went to.

If at all possible try to contact a news agency or a show like oprah to see if they will run stories like this one. It would hit a broader market as well as bring attention to the company's that are giving the consumers the run around as so many have written in about.

There is hope

AUTHOR: Karin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 13, 2003

I too let myself be pressured into trying the NADN program. I called for the free tax advise book advertised on the radio and fell for the sales pitch (unfortunately, I am one of those suckers that can never say no).

I received the package and the book I had originally called for was not included. I called and they sent another one out, which I received a week and a half later.

After receiving the book, in good faith, I followed the steps of giving the program a chance and spoke to one of the reps who told me to fax them my prior year's tax filings so they could review them and advise how I could have saved money on my taxes - thus demonstrating the value of the program. I attempted to fax the documents repeatedly over the next 3 days between the hours of 6 am and 10 pm Pacific time, and always received a busy signal.

By this time, I was approaching the end of the 30 day trial, so I called to cancel my membership. After receiving another sales pitch, which I turned down, I was told to fax a letter to them and was given a different fax number, which was also busy the whole of the next 2 days. I called again the next business day (and the 30th day) and was given a 3rd fax number. I also requested the mailing address so I would have postmark evidence and sent it out with proof of delivery requested. The fax did go through this time - first time.

The next day, I called to confirm that they had received the fax. They had not. I faxed it again, and called again, receiving confirmation that they did have it in hand.

A few days later, I received a call from them while I was at work. When I answered the phone, I was asked to hold for one of the officers of the company. Not wanting to jepordize the possibility of having my money refunded, I held.

FIFTEEN minutes later, he finally came to the phone with an apology for the wait and another sales pitch. My temper (augmented by pms I'm sure) exerted itself this time - and I haraunged him with the frustrations of dealing with his company, and that when I had first decided to cancel, it was mostly because of the fact that I couldn't afford it, but also that trying to fax things to them was impossible.

I had, however, filed the information away with the intention of possibly rejoining at a future time. But NOW, with the continuing difficulties I was experiencing in trying to cancel, and the continuous pressure I was getting to remain a member, I would NOT be rejoining in the future. He apologized and told me that my refund would be processed. Two months after being charged, my card WAS recredited.

Another interesting fact. A week after receiving my refund, I received a voicemail from an investigating attorney with a government agency requesting information about whether I ever received my refund. So someone out there is looking into the practices of this company.

Get your credit card company to help you.

I too was a victim of National Audit Defense Network and I resolved the issue immediately.

I packed up the materials they sent and mailed it back to them using the United States Postal Service. I sent it insured and with delivery confirmation. I did NOT wait for their return authorization number....they never give them!

I then disputed the charges, in writing, to my credit card company. Within 7 days, NADN refunded my money to my card account.

I filed reports with the Attorney General's in both Michigan and Nevada, with the Nevada Better Business Bureau and with the Federal Trade Commission. They are actively pursuing lawsuits.

For now, I am happy to have had this resolved in less than a month, but would like to see them jailed!

Good luck to you.

EDitor's Opinion: ..Consumers who are victimized by a company or individual have already exhausted all remedies before coming to the Rip-off Report.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 28, 2002

Spoken like the CEO or Dedicated REP of the company. They cover it all, just as if they were selling you the product.

Rip-off Report critics always say, "anyone can report a company falsely, and ruin them"

Consumers who are victimized by a company or individual have already exhausted all remedies before coming to the Rip-off Report. They've tried to negotiate with the business to no avail, they then get the run-a-round from the BBB, then maybe try government authorities to no avail..
Reading the Rip-off Reports, you have to see they are sincere, no questioning the Rip-off Reports with mutable complaints..

In many cases, more times than not, submitted REBUTTALS are instigated or created by the company themselves that have been reported.

False promises? How if you don't promise anything? Here's the information you should have been very clear on before you slandered a company!

AUTHOR: HEATHER - ()

PRESURED??? ARE YOU KIDDING? YOU ARE GROWN ENOUGH TO HAVE CREDIT BUT NOT TO THINK FOR YOURSELF AND SAY NO? NO ONE MADE YOU GIVE OUT YOUR BILLING INFORMATION AND SIGN UP! YOU JUST WEREN'T ABLE TO SAY NO AND ENFORCE YOUR POSITION. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, NADN HAS A VERY PRECISE VERIFICATIONS DEPARTMENT WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS REVIEWED, BUT VERIFIERS ALSO GIVE YOU A RUN THROUGH OF YOUR AGREEMENT AND CANCELLATION. YOU ARE BILLED $29.95 PER MONTH WITH NO CONTRACTED LENGTH OF TIME TO WHICH YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO STAY WITH NADN. YOU ARE NOT GUARUNTEED ANYTHING. YOU DO RECIEVE AUDIT PROTECTION, HOTLINE ACCESS TO TAX EXPERTS,AND A CONSULTATION WITH A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL ADVISER(WHICH IS WHAT YOU PAY THE MONTHLY FEE FOR). YOU ARE SET UP WITH A TAX LIASON WHO WORKS DIRECTLY WITH YOU. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER YOU ANY MONEY. YOUR AGREEMENT CAN BE CANCELLED AT ANYTIME, BUT ONCE YOU HAVE DECIDED NADN'S SERVICES ARE NOT FOR YOU, SEND A WRITTEN NOTICE BY MAIL, FAX ONE, AND CALL. COVER ALL ENDS AND FOLLOW UP TO BE SURE YOUR NOTICE WAS EVEN RECEIVED AT ALL. BASICALLY, ONCE YOUR CANCELLATION IS RECEIVED, IT WILL BE EFFECTIVE 30 DAYS FROM THE LAST PAYMENT. HOWEVER DON'T FAX IT IN THE DAY BEFORE YOUR ACCOUNT IS TO BE BILLED AND EXPECT THAT YOU WILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY BEEN CANCELLED THE SECOND YOUR FAX IS RECEIVED. YOU ARE IMPORTANT AS A CUSTOMER, BUT YOU ALSO ARE NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER THAT THE COMPANY HAS. IF THEY HAVEN'T CALLED, CALL THEM! IF YOU WERE A PART OF THAT 30 DAY FREE TRIAL THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CANCEL BY PHONE BUT ONLY UP UNTIL THE DATE ON WHICH YOU WERE TO BE BILLED. NADN ALREADY DID YOU A FAVOR BY CONTACTING YOU TO HELP YOU AND NO ONE ELSE, SO NOW YOU NEED TO DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BE PERSISTENT. WHY BAD WRAP A COMPANY THAT YOU HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH? YOU STILL SHOP AT THE SAME GROCERY STORE THAT YOU PROBABLY PURCHASE STALE CHIPS OR SOMETHING AT, RIGHT? SO WHAT MAKES THAT DIFFERENT THAN YOUR SITUATION WITH NADN, YOUR NOT ON THE INTERNET BAD MOUTHING ALL THE BUSINESSES THAT HAVE EVER DONE YOU WRONG ARE YOU? THAT'S JUST SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT, BUT IT'S YOUR INITIATIVE THAT GETS RESULTS, AND NOW YOU HAVE SOME MORE INFORMATION TO HELP. USE IT AND STOP WHINNING TO THE PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN HIDE BEHIND A COMPUTER SCREEN, NO ONE REALLY CARES. THE TIME YOU SPENT WRITING YOUR COMPLAINT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE OR AT THE POST OFFICE, GETTING RESULTS.

JUST AS IMPORTANT TO POST ON RIP-OFF REPORT, ATTORNEY GENERAL & MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE BBB

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, October 27, 2002

Listing your complaint on many Government links sometimes are no better than the BBB and are most likely just a waste of time, giving you false hope. Many government sites (like the BBB) just collect all information from you, the consumer, but never make that information available for all to see, so consumers will NOT be educated as to what exactly they should be looking out for. By these agencies not letting you see these complaints, making them public, you never know how bad the company or individual rip-off really is.

On the other hand, many government agencies have and do come to the Rip-off Report for information. We have been assisting many government agencies for some time now, including the FBI and Attorney General offices from around the country..

Now that all these Rip-off Reports are out in the open for everyone to see, in a way, this embarrasses these agencies into doing something when they see so many reports on a Company or Individual, because they are now out in the open for all to see. Unfortunately, many (not all) Attorney General Office's and government agencies will not move against a rip-off unless you are well connected, or there is going to be some sort of publicity on the rip-off. By reporting your experience on the Rip-off Report, is the next best thing to getting your story on TV or in a newspaper. Most national TV networks and many local TV stations from all around the country also come to the Rip-off Report for information they will not get from the BBB, Attorney General office's or any other government agency.

Rip-off Report has instigated many local and national stories, resulting in help for victims' world wide, in one way or another. Most government agencies will never even bother with rip-offs unless it involves $50,000 or more. Now that government is cutting back even more dollars for these types of programs, this number will even get higher and we can expect even less to get done, by even less people to work on all these rip-offs.

Additionally, by filing a Rip-off Report, you might be contacted by us notifying you to contact a law firm that has shown interested in your case.

report the fraudsters

AUTHOR: Fraud Chick - ()

POSTED: Saturday, October 26, 2002

Daniel,

Call your credit card as soon as possible and file fraud complaint. Let them know that an unscrupulous telemarketing company has obtained your credit card number and refuses to put the money they took from you back on the card. Be sure to note that you received no services or goods for the money and that you called them back the same day they nailed you. Let your credit card company that you do not want them to be a mediator, you just want your money back since you canceled the same day. Also let your credit card company know you intend to report the fraudsters to the Attorney General's office for unscrupulous business practices.

Contact the Nevada Attorney Generals office at http://bcp.state.nv.us/. You number one complaint is that NADN makes it a cinch for a consumer to give money but impossible to get it back.

Then call NADN back and tell them you've sent them a FAX to decline their services. But also tell them that you will cancel in any manner you please. Let them know you've turned them over to the AG's office for their business practices.

Good Luck,

Work quickly and methodically. Put on the Pressure.

As quick as you can send a cancellation letter certified mail with a return reciept request. They must have the cancellation notice in 30 days. This will give you proof of cancellation.

Call them daily for an update. Get the RMA number from them so you can return the materials. If they do not answer on the current customer line call the new customer line. They answer if they think they will be selling you something.

Return the materials as soon as you get the RMA number. Keep all records of your paperwork and tracking numbers. Keep a log of every person you speak with and what was said.

GET THE NAME OF EACH AND EVERY PERSON YOU SPEAK WITH. If it is legal in your state you should record the phone calls. The more times you have contact the more likely you are to be refunded.

Call your credit card company immediately and put the charge in dispute.

File any paperwork they ask you to. Do not pay the charge!!!

Report them to the Better Business Bureau, The Nevada Attorney Generals Office (consumer protection division) and The Federal Trade Commission. They can all be accessed on line.

There are several other places you can file complaints with also. Use names in your reports.

Do not let off untill you have your money back!!!

Let the employees know what kind of company they are serving (most of them are new) Tell them to check out the company for themselves.

GOOD LUCK
