The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Earl Rahn, Phil Stone, and Amy Rahn during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward NewSouth Window Solutions.

NewSouth Window Solutions is a truly unique window manufacturing and installation company located in south Florida. President and Cofounder Earl Rahn, explained the business model for his company, "unlike any window manufacturer to my knowledge...we are truly truly factory direct. We manufacture, we install, we guarantee. We go out of our way to make it easy. We eliminate the middle man.”

Leads for NewSouth Window Solutions are acquire through several different venues which include: radio, television, newspaper, billboards, open houses, home shows, direct mail, and the internet. They are showcased in major newspapers, and have been featured in several magazines, "we believe in marketing, advertising, and branding our name so the consumer knows they really do have an option." Because all the leads are inbound Phil Stone, the Affiliate President expressed that their clients approach them for services, "we're never in a position where we are badgering people, we don't do unsolicited knocks on their door, we don't ring their telephone none of that. We don't believe in operating that way." Mr. Rahn went on to explain the sales process for NewSouth Window Solutions. After the initial interest is placed customers are welcome to visit the factory showroom that is open 7 days a week. From there an appointment will be set to illustrate the product and provide an estimate, "singe source accountability: one company, one call, we make it, we install it, we guarantee it...we back it up with an unconditional, non prorated lifetime warranty...if anything should ever go wrong which it seldom does, we have a service department to fix things. CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION FROM NEWSOUTH WINDOW SOLUTIONS

During the onsite interview, the staff at NewSouth Window Solutions was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Rahn explained that working in the construction business issues can occur with the product. He illustrated a incident where a window was cracked during transportation. If an issue like this arises, "we have our full service department. We will install everything to the best of our ability, and we will go ahead and manufacture any pieces that need to be replaced. So the customer will get exactly what they expect each an every time." Mr. stone went on to explain that not only do they produce quality products, but the customer is there number one concern throughout their professional relationship, "at NewSouth the customer is king. There is accountability in every aspect so nothing falls through the cracks.”



When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website the staff explained that there were two false reports posted on the site. The first was a comment made from a customer who owed the company money for services performed on her home. She did not pay the billed amount, and the issue escalated to court. The issue has been resolved. The second report was made by an aggressive competitor in the Florida area. The comments made by the competitor stated that the products made by NewSouth Window Solutions were not up to code. These comments are indeed false as Amy Rahn explains, "every single one of our products goes through a rigorous testing with the state of Florida. Each one of our products has a Florida product approval number. We meet and exceed the criteria for energy star, which is now code in the majority of the sate of Florida.”

Ripoff Report would like to let readers know that Ripoff Report emailed this customer so the member business could make things right with them. We have information that this report was filed by a competitor. An ex-employee of the suspected company told us they were in the room while the individual was bragging about the post on our company. There is no record of this individual as a prospect or a customer. The accusations in the report are inaccurate. My rebuttal on this complaint gives the facts, with proof that their accusations are false. Their response to my rebuttal makes it even more obvious that this indeed in a competitor and the information they give is not accurate. I would like the IP address of this poster, as we were promised when we signed up.

BUYER BEWARE, We had their sales slob come to our home and give the estimate that was completely full of lies and misconceptions, of course we didnt know this at the time of the appointment. The salesperson (GREG) we think the shisters name was, told us they make their own windows, and they been in buisness forever and the warrany was the best etc, etc. But when we did our research we found quite the opposite!!! We found they do make a window, BUT ITS NOT APPROVED FOR SOUTH FLORIDA- We went and looked for their approvals on the miami dade county approved websit-GUESS WHAT--NO NEW SOUTH WINDOW SOLUTIONS. We called and confronted New SOuth on this and they proceeded to back peddle telling us that their SISTER MANUFACTURING FACILITY in OCALA makes the approved window for them---I asked what name is that under so i can see if its approved for my zone. They told me it was called CWS window that is made exclusively for them.... So i looked up CWS on the miami dade county site and guess what, i found them!!!! Then we called CWS directly to see if this were true that they make a window exclusively for this New South Window--They told me NO, we make an approved window that I could get from any of their dealers. I had a quote from FHA that said CWS windows in their quote, Greg told me that it was a different window, that CWS is under contract to make a certain profile for just them along with a special glass---GUESS WHAT----ALL BS..... Why is it so tough in Florida to get a company to tell you the truth and do what they say their going to do!!!!! Im from the north east and replaced my window their and had no issues with the salespeople or the company!!!! Whats the deal here!!! The sales rep also told me how his window(really CWS window) was the best with the best price---NOT THE CASE AGAIN!! We had two other estimates that were less---and guess what--THE WINDOW WAS MADE BY CWS AND WAS THE SAME MODEL!!!!!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO YOUR RESEARCH, IM INCLUDING THE LINK TO THE MIAMI DADE COUNTY APPROVED LIST!!!!!

DONT BE FOOLED LIKE WE NEARLY WERE!!! GET OUT OF FLORIDA NEW SOUTH AND STOP LYING!

YOU DONT SELL THE WINDOWS YOU MAKE BECAUSE THE DESIGN PRESSURES ARE TOO LOW!!!

The Main issue was is that we were lead to believe that the windows that would be installed in our home would be made by you-FACTORY DIRECT!!! And this is NOT the case. On your website you say that factory direct is mis a misleading term.

Here is your EXACT verbiage!!!!

I looked up “factory direct” on Wikipedia and here is what I found:

“Disintermediation initiated by consumers is often the result of high market transparency, in that buyers are aware of supply prices direct from the manufacturer. Buyers bypass the middlemen (wholesalers and retailers) to buy directly from the manufacturer, and pay less. Buyers can alternatively elect to purchase from wholesalers. Often, a business-to-consumer electronic commerce (B2C) company functions as the bridge between buyer and manufacturer.”

That clears it up, right?

When it comes to the purchase of replacement windows, factory direct means different things to different people.

You see, some Central Florida replacement window companies who install replacement windows buy their windows from a local depot. The depot is the one who gets their windows for resale directly from the factory, but if you get your windows and they came through a dealer who bought them through a depot who bought them from the factory, that’s not even close to factory direct.

IF YOUR HAVING CWS MAKE YOUR WINDOWS TO SELL IN SOUTH FLORIDA SINCE YOURS DOESNT HAVE A HIGH ENOUGH DESIGN PRESSURE RATIONG TO QUALIFY THEN ARE YOU FACTORY DIRECT!!!!

Not according to your website, And this is what your PEOPLE are pitching!!!!!!

Dear Mr. Monahan,

 We saw your report and want to set the record straight as there are a couple of facts that you have wrong:

  1. NewSouth does indeed manufacture 2 different impact window series that are approved for South Florida, and meets or exceeds Miami-Dade’s HVHZ standards
  2. We do have a private label window relationship with CWS of Ocala 

We apologize for the negative encounter you had with Greg from the Boca Raton office.  We actually appreciate the feedback and are happy to clear up any confusion.

NewSouth is a Florida window manufacturing facility that occupies 75,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Tampa, Florida. We manufacture thousands of windows each month, all specifically for the Florida climate. 

 The 2 impact window series are named the NewSouth iVantage 9000 and the NewSouth iVantage 4000. Both of these NewSouth window series have passed the rigors of the Miami-Dade’s HVHZ (high velocity hurricane zone) testing, proving that our windows are indeed suitable and approved for South Florida.  

 You will see our information on floridabuilding.org.  FloridaBuilding.org is the official state listing of Florida products and supercedes the Miami Dade or any city/county listing in the state of Florida.  However we are currently looking into why we are not listed on the Miami-Dade site. 

 Here are our Florida Product Numbers that Show Miami-Dade’s HVHZ approvals :

Additionally, NewSouth does partner with CWS in Ocala for specific applications, and we are proud of this association.  While we do manufacture the majority of our windows and doors, we do partner with several other manufacturers for products including, entry doors, differing window styles, and certain applications depending on the situation.

We actually do have a private label program with CWS for our commercial/wholesale division, named Doers Window Mfg. This is a common relationship in American industry.  However, the window is not different. CWS actually offers private labels for many dealers.  Greg most likely confused our internal divisions, and should have been more professional.  Again, we apologize.

 So the bottom line, no “BS” to quote you, though we could have done a better job with our communication.  We sincerely wish you well on your window project.  While there are many fine window companies in South Florida, there are only a few that are factory direct to the public.
