New World Imaging Deceptive business practice Los Angeles California

My firm received unsolicited phone calls from New World Imaging (NWI) who is in the business of selling toner cartridges. The sales rep offered us a free toner cartridge to try out. We had the option of keeping the cartridge and being billed at a discounted price, or if we found the product unsatisfactory, we could return it without any payment due. The toner cartridge performed well, so we kept and paid for it.

A few weeks later, we received a phone call from NWI. This time, the representative claimed that we had entered into an agreement to purchase 9 more cartridges at a higher price per unit. My firm never made any verbal agreements or signed any contracts with NWI. I informed them as such, and the rep dropped the call.

A week later, we received a delivery of 3 toner cartridges from NWI. Realizing that this company is using deceptive business practices, we did not accept the delivery, and the cartridges were returned to NWI.

About a year had gone by when we received a phone call from NWI using the same sale tactics as before. I politely informed them that we did not wish to do business with them and ended the call. Then about a year later, NWI called again. This time they claimed that we had made purchases with them in the previous year and that we are owed some gift cards which they had offered last time. I hung up the phone in mid conversion.

NWI employs bad, deceptive business practices and should not be allowed to do so. To business owners, beware of NWI.
