niagara credit solutions, inc identity theft, rude, wanted social security number, would not verify creditor, hung up on me rochester and williamsville ny New York

 Received letter in my name and mothers name saying owe $2829.63 from merchant ECU Frigidaire. Called to inquire. Gave account no. Name. Birthday. Then they wanted social security number. Refused to give. Said I wanted to verify original creditor and dispute validity. Lady hung up on me. How am I getting this bill? I rent and my mother past away a year ago. I don't live in NY and neither did my mother. We lived in two different states. Called local credit company who does not show this on file. Something fishy is going on.
