Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp - Holding our credit hostage! Never lease Nissan!

My husband and I leased a Nissan Maxima from Scott nissan in Ardmore, PA in 1995...we returned the car at the end of the lease in 1998...there were no problems at the time...a few months later Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp sent us a ltter saying we owed them roughly $3,100 in "wear and tear"!!!!!!! we agreed with them to pay $900 in settlement, and paid it in January of 1999...well, Nissan never settled with us like they said they would...we just tried to get a student loan and were denied because Nissan has on my husbands credit report that he still owes them $2,287!!!!!! and we have never received a piece of correspondance in YEARS!!!!!! we were shocked by this breach of agreement and extortion from them...we have a family and no money to pay them! and now we can not get a loan because they are saying we owe them money that we do not - and they never even told us we owed them NEVER NISSAN!!! they are crooks who are ruining our life!!!! DO NOT BUY A NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
