I purchased a 2004 Nissan XTerra in September of 2004. I have numerous small problems so far including paint chips and an incorrect remote starter that was installed by Executive Nissan in North Haven, CT.

I have written NMAC several letters informing them of my problems that were supposed to be corrected in Connecticut. My husband and I moved to South Carolina about two weeks after we purchased the vehicle and Executive Nissan in CT completely screwed up the paint repair and did not even address the issue of the incorrect remote starter. (No doubt because they were fully aware we were leaving the state.)

When I first wrote NMAC in October 2004 regarding these two issues, I waited for a response. They never called or wrote, so after a month I wrote them again. They claimed that since I moved, they could not get hold of me and "closed the case." HERE IS THE FUNNY PART - I included my new address and phone number in South Carlina right on my original correcpondence to them! What an outright lie!! Which I of course called them on. They had no explanation. They then tried to tell me that since I had the problems in CT, I had to return to the dealership there to address the issues!

Hello, I told them, I have moved 800 miles away! How convenient for you AND the dealership! I am now on my third letter to them, as I have other problems now with this brand new car - the gas valve 'spits back' gas while filling - coincidentally I found this has happened to others, too - and my digital odometer is slowly 'vanishing' like an etch a sketch. They still have not addressed the original two problems! I will continue to write and now address my letter to the president of the company. Not that it helps - they did call me one time only after my second letter and told me they had tried to call me 'on numerous occasions' now that they had my correct informaion. They still are not helping me with the original problems, though. I reminded them that A.) You ALWAYS had my correct information and B.) When they told me they had tried to call me three times, I told them they were flat out lying because I have caller ID AND an answering machine that functions perfectly well! They never called me!

They truly have lousy customer service. I am a consumer who buys a new car every two years, and they just lost the chance to ever get my business again.
