I purchased a 2000 Nissan Sentra in May of 2000. As far as I know my car was not "REMANUFACTURED".

On August 15, 2001 my CD player in my car decided to stop working. Being out of warranty and approching 90k miles, i just decided to replace the CD player myself.

I proceeded to remove the CD player from my car and found a sticker on top of my cd player that said "REMANUFACTURED" on top of my CD player.

I proceeded to put the new CD player in my car, and called Nissan the next morning.

I talked to Elizabeth Martinez (310) 771-3846 and proceeded to tell her what i had found. She advised me that my CD player had been replaced under warranty in february of 2001 (approx 14k miles) to me that is still a new car.

I was irritated at this point, becuase of the fact i purchased a NEW car with a NEW car warranty, but had a USED part put in my car under the NEW car warranty. I advised her that I was not happy with this, and something was to be done.

I asked why a USED CD player was put in my car and she proceeded to tell me that it is Nissan Warranty Policy. I said BS!!!! I didnt purchase a "REMANUFACTURED" car and i dont want "REMANUFACTURED" warranty parts put in it. She said there is nothing she can do.

I advised that i wanted a call from a supervisor and was told i would be called on the following Monday morning.

It is now August 29 and no call. I called Nissan this after noon and advised that i had not been called, and said if i get no satisfaction I will be making 4 phone calls:
1. Better Business Bureau
2. Attorney General of Arizona (i have a friend in the office)
3. An Attorney
4. The local tv staions.

she said i will be called tomorrow and I advised her I need a phone call about this.

I know it seems small compared to most problems....but what else is "REMANUFACTURED" in these cars these days? They need to stand behind their products better.

#7 Consumer Suggestion

Joey do you work for a car dealer now? has your dealer made the Rip Off Report?

AUTHOR: The Great Thorn - ()

POSTED: Saturday, August 31, 2002

Joey, I told him that if I were him I would fax the Rip Off Report to honda dealers so the Honda dealers could see that Nissan has in the past put rebuilt radios in their new cars.

This a great way to piss off Nissan. The Idea is to be a Thorn. Maybe Nissan will never do this again.

If you were a Honda salesman you would love to show this Rip Off Report to people that were thinking of buying a new Honda from you. This would make selling Hondas much easier. I also think your Sales manager would love to expose other car dealer's dirt. You agree?

This is also a great way for his rip Off Report to be seen by many.

If you are a consumer's advocate you would want bad businesses to know about Ripoffreport.com. The main idea is to expose bad businesses as fast as possible to protect consumers.

Maybe you still work for a car dealer and do not like what the Rip Off Report does. If you work for a car dealer ask your dealer's GM and GSM to visit www.ripoffreport.com and see if your dealership has made the RipOffReport.

I feel it is high time for consumers to see what is really going on in the business world. Consumers need to have the hard cold facts that the Better Business bureau is not on the consumer's side of the fence.

Just think Joey, one day you will get Ripped Off and you will want to expose the business that bent you over. Unlike your local TV station or newspaper, The Rip Off report will be on your side. Don,t bash anybody or anything that is helping you.

Good day,
The Great Thorn

oh great one, why is he faxing honda dealers? also, remanufactured means rebuilt by the manufactur to new product specs. also ive replaced plenty of honda reman radios when i was a honda tech. everybody does it. this guy is going quite a bit overboard its not like they went out and got a radio out of another car (also something they do quite often) it was, in a sense, a new radio...

Dear Josh,

Sorry has to how you were treated by Nissan Morors. I The Great Thorn must say It just drives me nuts has to all of the deception that I come accross in the auto industry. My goal is to help consumers get a bit if control when it comes to killing deception in this industry.

Josh, Do you want to piss off Nissan ? If so do what I would do.

If I were you, I would go to your Rip Off Report and click on the "Printer Friendly Version" link and click it. Then I would print off a very clean copy.

I then would type up a fax cover sheet that said in BIG BOLD LETTERS

" FREE CLOSING TOOL FOR ALL HONDA CAR DEALERS IN PHOENIX AZ. THIS FREE CLOSING TOOL WILL HELP YOUR SALES STAFF INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CARS YOU ROLL OFF OF YOUR LOT"

I then would fax a copy of this cover sheet and a copy of your Rip Off Report to EVERY Honda dealer that I have posted.

I then would fax a copy of the same thing to
Nissan Motor Corp. in USA

Nissan North America, Inc.

Just think Josh how many people will read your Rip Off Report. Please remember Josh Car maker CEO's can't stand the thought that they can't censor this web site. Josh go to www.google.com and type in Rip Off Report and see how many reports pop up.

Now here are the fax numbers that I would be faxing a Rip Off Report to if I were you. Josh This faxing might cost you $3 or $4 bucks, but money WELL SPENT.
