North Star Van Lines - Five Star Movers ripoff, deceptive moving quote, stole goods Van Nuys California

I am writing this e-mail to express my concern and disappointment in the service I received from North Star Van Lines today.

I was told by Irina that the movers would arrive at my apartment no later than 9:00 a.m. I did not hear from Ron until approximately 11:00 a.m. and he did not show for another 30 minutes. Three hours later my move was completed, but of course they left items out and packed items that didn't belong to me despite my explicit instructions. I also had to supply the movers with refreshments, including one of them drinking my Coke from the bottle out of my refrigerator. (Just to be clear I did not offer this, they asked for water and I agreed to that.)

I am very concerned that the estimate was so grossly under stated. I am not saying that the quote was missed by $200 or $300 but that the quote was missed by over $1275. Ron did not say it was going to be that much higher until the move was essentially complete. I had no choice but to accept the terms and did so under duress.

I also am angry that Ron showed up in a Budget Rent Truck with 2 illegal, non english speaking, non-employees of your company. How can you insure my possession when you allow one of your agents to use non insured labor. I am scared to think of the legal ramifications this could hold for your company if either of these 2 men were injured of INS were to find out.

All this being said, I believe that Ron increased the quote for his own benefit, and that you (Irina) quoted me a rate that unfairly enticed me to use your company. I am willing to spend a little more with you but $1275 is out of the question for me and my employer.

I have been honest with you about my belongings and feel it is completely unethical to change your quote so dramatically after the move was essentially complete and I could not choose another carrier.
