I want to relate a personal story to all of you to warn you about an Auto Scam that dealerships openly practice in the state of Texas . It is call 'Spot Delivery or Yo-Yo' scam. I have attached an article from the internet that will help explain how the scam works. But I can also tell you first hand because it just happened to me and I want to tell everyone I possibly can.

On October 17th I purchase a new 2008 Altima Coupe SE. Signed all of the documents with the finance manager Brian Hall and turned over my car as a trade in. I was told that everything was a done deal and I would begin making payments on my car on the 26th of November.

Today, I got a call from the dealership and Brian's assistant, Ruth. Ruth informed me that they could not get the bank to accept the terms that we had originally agreed on and that I would need to come in and 're-negotiate'.

Of course I was shocked! I've been driving the car for over two weeks and have fallen in love with the car. I explained to her that I had a signed contract with

Them and they couldn't just change the terms. She informed me that the dealership had done a spot delivery and that they could in fact change

whatever they wanted. I could either agree to their new terms or bring the car back!

I got on the internet and immediately begin finding all of these articles about car dealerships doing these 'Spot Delivery or Yo-Yo' scams. I could not believe what I was reading. It was almost verbatim what was happening to me. I called Ruth and told her that I was going to consult with my attorney before I made any decisions because I felt I had a binding contract. She told me since I decided to handle things like that they would need the car to be returned to them in the morning first thing and if it wasn't at the dealership by noon they would report the car stolen.

Can you even begin to believe this????

I insisted on speaking with Bryan whom I had originally worked with and she told me he wasn't there and she was capable of taking care of 'this situation'. I was livid to say the least! I was so frustrated I just hung up because I had a client waiting to see me. She called back 11 times and I told her I could not talk because I had a client in my office. She was very rude to me and you should hear some of the voice mails that she left.

This morning the calls started again. I told her if she wanted the car she could come and get it. Again she threatens to report the car stolen. I just told her to go ahead because I had a contract that said otherwise. Finally around 10:30, Bryan the finance manager called me and was very apologetic etc I am still working on the deal and I don't know if I will keep the car or not. I will let you all know the outcome

PLEASE PASS THIS TO EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW. I want people to know that they should not purchase a vehicle from North Texas Nissan.
