Over the past 4 years the International School Heiligenhaus has been known to recruit teachers from English speaking countries with promises of stable employment. Many teachers from England, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand has fallen prey to the human and labour exploitation of it's school director
Ursua Mock.

Dr. Ursula Mock operates a chain of schools in Germany called the following: International School Heiligenhaus, International School Bochum and her newly opened school International School Germany. This school has a past history of contacting and targeting teachers from England, USA, Canada, etc with a false job offer and upon teachers arrival they quickly learn they are underpaid, exploitated and some cases human trafficked into Germany illegialy For the safety of female teaching staff it is imperative they are aware of this school practices and decline this school so called job offer.

Note: If for whatever reason you decide to take employment at International School Heiligenhaus, please take this list seriously. Many current and former employees haven been investigated and fined by the German government and their
visas threatened because the school hired them using illegal practices without them knowing. So, please, learn your legal rights before working here. Have a lawyers info available before you begin employment and research how to use
Germanys free legal aid for employees. 

Due to governmental pressure and IB investigations she has been forced to step down as principal and has recruited another principal to operate her school in Heiligenhaus by the name of Richardo Passo. We urge you no matter what you are told or if they deny these allegations turn down offer as they will say anything to get you there and when
you arrive you are directly mistreated and NOT PAID!!

If you are contacted to work at this school do not leave your native country for the multiple reasons listed below, which provides a clear outline of this school treatment of teachers and fraud practices:

1. The Principal, Ursula Mock, is a Veterinarian and has NO certification or diploma in Education.

2. The IB and PYP Coordinator, Kristine Leabres, had only two known years of teaching experience, all done at International School Heiligenhaus, before being promoted to her current role. She received her bachelors degree in the Phillipines and came directly to work at the school. She is know for calling teachers directly in their native home countries under the recruiting orders of Dr. Mock. She make up lies and promises to you in order to fulfill timetable demands.

If you send them your resume or respond to there job offer that you saw posted online, you are more than likely contacted by Kristine Leabres or they have now gone as far to use recruiting agencies such as HAYS. Please run
Kristine off your phone if she calls you.

3.The third and final Administrator and Head of the Chinese Department, YuGang Zhang, has no teaching certification. His only notable job experience before was managing a Subway restaurant.

4. International School Heiligenhaus  has been investigated by the German government. Many current and former teachers have already been contacted by German officials regarding illegal hiring practices. At the same time, the German Ministry of Education has already made three separate visits to the school by February of the 2010-2011 school year.

As many parents became aware of Dr. Ursula Mock fraudulent practices they have withdrawn their child out of the school. As a result Ursula Mock decided to open another school in Deltmond due to the financial loses she has occurred at Heiligenhaus. However the German Ministry of Education has denied her a permit to be recognized under the German School System. Please note that the International School Germany is NOT IB certified and now it is NOT certified by the German Government. 5. Teachers and staff almost never get paid on time or correctly or at ALL. Many staff and teachers who have worked there for over a year report they did not get paid on time a majority of the time. This is illegal by Germany law and many
have sued, yet it still continues to this day.

6. Employee contracts state that if the employee quits then the employee must pay 10.000,00. This is completely illegal under German law. Yet most teachers do not know their legal rights and stay in an abusive position for fear of being sued.

In a few teachers cases Dr. Ursula Mock has even gone as far to trick and force teachers to sign GERMAN ONLY contracts. In these contracts it states that they are working as volunteers and not as paid teachers. Please do not sign any contracts with this school no matter how much bullying an threats they make to you.

7. Veterinarian Mock often grabs students and screams at them with little reason. Students are incredibly fearful of her. Many teachers from preschool through the secondary levels have reported their students will no longer say if they are sick for fear of being aggressively grabbed and yelled at by Mock when going to the office.

A teacher in the Primary department  EVEN REPORTED that Dr. Mock has even gone as far to grab one child so hard making the child wet his pants and called a child a thief. She is mentally and emotionally unstable.

8. Veterinarian Mock constantly screams and degrades teachers and staff. This is the number one reason people quit. As one former employee has said, She goes for your soul, to tear out a piece. Shell look for the closest person and attack even if they werent doing anything wrong. Veterinarian Mock tells most teachers they are bad teachers and how much their students and parents hate them. She tells staff that they are expendable and threatens to fire them often. She will often scream and insult an employee until they are brought to tears, regardless of gender. Those that stand up for themselves are normally fired by the next day.

9. During meals, half-eaten food is reused and given to other students. Almost every staff person and teacher we have spoken with discusses how this happens. There are also multiple news articles discussing it: Express, WZ, Rheinische Post

10. Contrary to German school standards, holiday time is almost never given. Almost every school in Germany gives their staff and teachers the same holiday time as their students, minus a few in-house days. Veterinarian Mock gives half that time and requires a written request. She denies it, however, for little to no reason. In 2010, she denied the entire primary school holiday time because she was upset with them. She never described why she was upset.

11. Some teachers have  confirmed eye witness reports that she is a member of an non ethical church and most of the parents who have their children sent to this school are members of this church. Most of the older students who are sent to this school are sent as a last resort as they have been expelled from other schools due to severe behavioral problems. One child has even gone as far to attack another child with scissors.

12. Many teachers and administrative and janitorial staff have taken this school to court and a trade union has gotten involved and have held protests infront of the school. 14. Due to her multiple legal and financial troubles she even has gone far to use teachers and students information for her own legal benefit.

15. Teachers and classrooms have very few resources. Even though the annual tuition is over 0, each teacher is only given 5,00 per student per term to spend on resources. That is only 15,00 per year. Most other resources and toys have been purchased used. Thus, almost all the books were donated by parents. Even with such high tuition, the majority of classrooms use blackboards with chalk, not even whiteboards. At the same time, a couple of classrooms have smart boards to show the parents. Thus, some students get much more quality resources than others.

16. In Spring 2009, Mock hired 3 teachers from Canada. Like other teachers, Mock told them they could begin working right away. For months, the teachers kept asking Mock if this was legal without a visa and she said multiple times that it was.

They felt that Mock was wrong and so they went to the immigrations office together to ask what they needed to do. As they expected, Mock had been lying to them. What they did not expect was what came next.

When the German government found out the 3 Canadian teachers had been teaching at ISH without visas, they fined and deported all three of them.

Whatever Mock tells you about work permits or working legally, don't trust her.

17. Mock attempted to implement a fingerprint system for tracking students and teachers. Without notification or written permission from parents, she made almost all the students giver her their fingerprints.

Fortunately, the teachers at the school banded together and fought for both their right to privacy as well as the students' right. None of them agreed to be registered in the system. Between their complaints and complaints from parents who later found out their children were fingerprinted without their knowledge, the program has been "put on hold". Hopefully, it will remain that way.

Students and teachers should not have to give up such private personally identifiable information to their schools. It is one thing for us to offer our fingerprints to the police for background checks, it is completely another to think we should be tracked daily in this way.

From day one, teachers here are treated like soon-to-be criminals. They should stay away from this school at all costs.

18. Police reports have been filed against Dr. Mock in Heiligenhaus. In addition she has threatens the lives of teachers and she has a long history of throwing teachers out of housing or not providing housing for 90% of her teaching staff. Even after many years, the teachers are still often not paid on time and often underpaid from their stated contracts.
Sometimes Dr. Mock will withhold 100-200 euros for no reason. when questioned,
she just responds 'so sue me', which translates into 'complain and you're fired'. It is no surprise that so many teachers leave and she knows that she'll never need to pay up because the teachers don't know the legal system. this is absolutely criminal and disgusting.

19. In the 2009-2010 school year, over 60 staff left the school. This is an incredibly rough and conservative estimate. It is assumed to actually be over 100. The number one cause is Veterinarian Mock firing a staff member simply because she wants to fire someone that day. The second reason is being let go before the six month probation period so Veterinarian Mock does not have to give a reason for letting someone go. The third reason is people leaving due to abusive treatment by Veterinarian Mock or not getting paid by her. Numerous people have sued over the latter. This
phenomenon has been documented by numerous newspapers.

20. We have listened to dozens of staff and teachers recount their experiences with the facts above. Please take them into serious consideration before accepting employment at International School Heiligenhaus. If you do accept a job position there, please protect yourself: study your legal rights and know how to get legal aid.
