There were a host of serious concerns with this AirBnB rental. For starters, the building was under construction upon arrival, a detail that was conveniently not mentioned to us by the host. The front facade of the building was taped off and the front entrance was inaccessible. The "lobby" and hallways in the ground level were under complete construction, as was one of the elevators. None of this was made clear to us prior to arrival.

Second, the apartment smelled distinctly of pet dander and/or urine upon arrival. Attempts to get rid of the odor were ineffective. Additionally, the washer/dryer was broken, a detail also not explained to us by the host prior to arrival, despite the listing describing the apartment having a working W/D. The apartment was also not perfectly clean - we found various stains throughout the space and some sort of material in the kitchen sink.

Third, the air conditioning in the apartment did not work. The vents release what seems to be "just air". We set the a/c to the lowest setting (45F) and the temp remained at 78F regardless. Additionally, at least one of the vents in the apartment was covered in electrical tape, as was the thermostat. This was even further unacceptable considering we were staying in Miami Beach, FL, where temperatures rose to 85F during the day and did not dip below 70F at night.

Fourth, I woke up on the second morning, after sleeping on the pullout couch, with what were clearly bed bug bites on my right leg that were itchy and bright red.

Fifth, and of most concern, is that my friend and I were told that apartment owners are not allowed to rent out, for short term, properties at 1228 West End Ave, Miami Beach, FL. We were stopped by security at the front desk, and they informed us they did not know, nor have ever heard of, Omer, the host of the apartment. They informed us they would be reaching out to the owner of the apartment and that were technically staying illegally at the apartment based on the facts of the situation.

All in all, this laundry list of complaints proves that this Airbnb rental was 100% unacceptable for myriad reasons. Omer Horev is a dishonest, petty, and low-integrity individual who will try to blame you for any issues even if the blame clearly lies on his behalf.

Omer Horev is delusional

Omer, I love how you took over a year to reply to my report. You've clearly outdone the 2015 version of yourself, though, in that you've lied about your own lies! You never advised me on the construction; rather, I called you the night of my arrival out of confusion that the building was in a state of disrepair. You never sent a technician to fix the air conditioner, either. Huge lie here, folks. It was broken throughout the entirety of our stay. Why would I lie about that?

Your statement that I was reported by Airbnb to get free stays is also 100% patently false. Show me one example of this besides yours. Got nothing? Shocker. I like how you've conveniently chosen to not mention a word about how you were reported by Airbnb for illegally posting the listing! Good one, Omer. Really smooth. You've really shown your realtor chops on that one.

Oh, and what are you talking about re: champagne and beers? I never asked for any alcohol (or food, or anything else, for that matter). All I ever asked for was a legitimate, legal, bed beg-free apartment with air conditioning. Clearly, this was MUCH too much for Omer to comply with.

Oh, and Omer, I bet you're loving how this report is number one on Google, eh? Have a nice life.

The report filed by brian is an absurd. Brian was advised about the construction and upon his arrival seam very happy. The next morning he started complaining about the AC not cooling enough and other items that weren't to his satisfaction, I said a technitian will come to fix it which he did. While I can appreciate it, it was obvious that he was trying to get a free stay (which he ended up getting) be aware that he was reported by Airbnb to do this on ongoing basis and stay for free. Meanwhile my Airbnb reviewed are only 5 stars. I feel sorry for brian and his friends behaviors and I hope you'll avoid hosting them. Brian wanted a champagne but could only pay for a beer and then ask to be comped. My company was offering at the time apartments range from $100/night to $1000/night - brian chose the $100/night.
