Let me start this off by saying, I am completely aware of the odds of winning any lottery. I mostly play for "entertainment purposes". However, unless I am the most unlucky person, EVER ! There is something rotten in Denmark, errrr, Wilsonville,  grrr, Salem.....I would like to think I am a somewhat intelligent person, with a fairly good grasp onstatistics and possibilities. I thought....My game in the Oregon state lottery is the Pick 4.

I played this game on a regular basis for over a year. During that time I would miss a game here and there, for whatever reason. and on those few games I would miss, approximately 90% of the time the numbers I play would hit in some fashion. Very frustrating, to say the least ! At first I just chalked it up to the randomness of the game. After seeing the actual payouts on each game. I was astonished to see how little the payouts were, and how few times the numbers were picked correctly thus winning the top prize. Almost never !!!!!

I played the same numbers for over a year, two sets of four numbers, and did not win a dime. After deciding not to play any longer, my numbers hit the second game after my gameslip was over. C'mon !!!!!! There must be some sort of recourse. If I were a betting man, wait... I would put a lot of money on the fact that, at the very least the Pick 4 is rigged. And if that game is rigged, I think its a safe assumption that they are all rigged in some form or fashion.

I know in the past, Oregon lottery was accused and found guilty of rigging the Keno game. after the twelth number was drawn, whatever that number was, there would be a number drawn that was less than that number. It was tracked for over 6 months by numerous people, and brought to the attention of the lottery officials. But never heard anything else about it. Obviously the smart thing to do, is to not play.... I get it !! But why is it so tough for people, to not cheat. Whats wrong with playing the game correctly and letting the chips fall where they may. You already have the statistical advantage, you are gonna win.....Try not to be a greedy a*****e !!!! As tough as that may be...........FML

You've broken the code

AUTHOR: John - (United States)

Clearly, the lottery is rigged to prevent you, specifically, from winning.  The lottery officials check which numbers you picked, and then make sure they pick other numbers instead.  They don't prevent EVERYONE from winning by choosing numbers NOBODY picked, because people DO win the lottery, right?  Just not you?

Tax on the stupid

AUTHOR: Flint - (Afghanistan)

POSTED: Friday, July 10, 2020

They say the lottery is a tax on the stupid, and you are a great illustration of that.  The odds of winning the top prize ($2000) on a $1 bet is 1 in 10,000.  You'd have to buy 30 tickets a day for a year to have a reasonable chance of winning that.  I'll do the math for you: that would cost over $10,000.  Not a good return on investment, at all.  Actually, that only gets you a 63% chance of winning.  To have a 95% chance of winning, you'd need to buy 30,000 tickets.

The next two highest prizes are 1 in 1111, and they pay out only $150 on a $1 bet.  If you bought a ticket every single day of the year, it would take you 1.5 years before you would expect to win one of those, and it would cost you $600 (on average).

All the other prizes pay out the grand total of $6.  Gonna get real rich with those!

But I'd love to know: how do you rig a lottery game like that?  And why would you need to?  It's already rigged with an 80% house edge that casinos can only dream of.  Even those rip-off slot machines they have at gas stations are a better deal than that.
