I am from Florida but I travel to Maryland frequently. I found the 2013 Chevrolet Spark LT2 I wanted to purchase while searching online. I planned to purchase a vehicle cash so I contacted the dealership, Ourisman Rockmount Chevrolet, about the online sale price. I was first contacted by Frank Marinucci on August 24, 2013 we exchanged emails and phone calls. He was aware of the exact vehicle I wanted and the exact date I would be in Maryland and at the dealership to purchase the vehicle.

I arrived with my trade in vehicle and I met Frank in person. He explained he was busy but would be with me soon and introduced me to an associate. Before arriving I had printed the Internet vehicle information, the Black Book appraisal for my vehicle, and a coupon for a $200 Gift Card (Frank Never told me about this) I had all my paperwork with me. The saleman left to babysit me was very nice however after waiting over Two (2) hours I was very unhappy. Then upon Frank finally making his way over to me, after my numerous inquiries, he was very abrupt. Frank never asked for or glanced at my paperwork instead he preceded to tell me that I am not elligible for the online sale price because I am from out of state. He also asked if I am a member of USAA because $750 of the discount is only for USAA members. None of this was ever explained or divulged during any of his emails or phone conversations. He then also told me that my trade in vehicle appraised for $1200, the Black Book appraised between $3500 and $5500. He offered to sell me the car for way above the price I found elsewhere and expected to take possesion of my trade. He lied, withheld information, wasted my time, and ruined my trip. I left very upset and angry.

I was still upset by the experience a few days later so I then contacted the "internet sales" department and was given Richard Cunningham to speak with. Richard did try to rectify the situation, at first, but he too lied. Richard offered to honor the original internet price and give me more for my trade. This all sounded great to me and I was once again planning to purchase the vehicle I want from them. Well upon our second conversation, when he called back to discuss the actual prices, he was offering a much lower price but still more than I expected. He quoted me the "Total out the door price" both with my trade and without it, all cash purchase. I wrote down all the information we discussed.

Yesterday, Spetember 17, 2013 I was again on my way to Ourisman Rockmount Chevrolet. I was planning to trade in my vehicle and purchase the Chevy Spark I want for the price I was given by Richard Cunningham. I decided to call him and review the Total Price and ask if I need to bring a Cashiers Check, Money Order, or if my check is acceptable. Well once again I found that I was lied to. I spoke with Richard and he said that the price he entered in his system was $625 higher than I'd written (his original quote) and that it was not really the Total cost because he left out the Florida Tax since I would register it there.

I have now decided to drive my vehicle back to Florida and wait to purchase the 2013 Chevy Spark in a few months, December, when I am sure I will find it for a much lower price.

Ourisman Rockmount Chevrolet is running a scam by listing low internet prices that they do not honor. They lie to get you in the door, they low ball there trade ins, and most of all the are lousy salemen. They lost a sale of a vehicle they can hardly move they have four 2013 Techno Pink Chevrolet Sparks and it is mid-September.

As I was reading, I kept on thinking "in the end this potential customer will reward them and take the car anyway"!  Such was not the case.  You were perfect.  You didn't act like a door mat, like many do, and you walked out!  Great work for being a SMART CONSUMER!
