I recently went to an urgent care facility for a foot injury. They didn't want to put the foot in a cast because it wasn't broken but I couldn't use shoes, so they gave me a orthopedic walking boot. The urgent care facility charged me for the medical treatment, and my insurance paid for all.....I thought.

Today I got a bill from Pacific Medical for a 'Solar Air Walker Ankle LG' for my portion of the payment...$65.93. My Insurance company paid $263.71 of a total bill of $335.00. You can buy the exact same walking boot online for under $100.

The boot was made in Vietnam for maybe $50.00. The price was inflated by over 300%. And we wonder why our insurance premiums are so high!
