We advanced a deposit to purchase land under a contract giving us the right to rescind within ten days following an inspection of the property. We visited, requested rescission and refund, were told we'd get it within three months, and it didn't come. We had to expend several thousand dollars in legal fees and threaten lawsuits against the company and its escrow agent to get a belated refund, without interest. They even mailed the check, drawn on a Florida bank, from Costa Rica so that they could collect interest for another 2 1/2 weeks!
