Bought PayPal prepaid debt MasterCard. Went to activate it for my brother not knowing all the Personal info needed. I gave them the wrong birthday they and locked the card. Wanted photos of my brothers social sercurity card and birth certificate. Also my social sercurity card and drivers license. Everything needed to steal both our identities. Now I'm out $4.95 for monthly fees for no services, and then out $5.95 just because I asked for a refund.

Guess it doesn't really matter what you think. They sided with me and returned the full amount. Turns the help I was receiving was hinding the situation. They had the address wrong, social wrong, to be honest I'm not sure what they had right. Not sure why your vigorously advocating the loss of funds to a million dollar company for refusal of sevice, or why you feel needed in this case. You clearing know nothing of how these cards really work. Forms and agreements? None of which were a part of the process. Honest mistake on my part of being in a hurry and not reading the very small print at the bottom of already small package. I felt since they locked the funds, least they could do was return they money so we could start again. But you don't see it that way and that's OK. We can agree to disagree. Just to let anyone else that cares to read. I have since been in contact with a very nice gentlemen from Netspend. He took very good care of me. Gave me a direct line to him to set up the next card I buy.

You have lost all credibility...

Now the truth comes out..

This wasn't some honest mistake where you just made a mistake and gave them your brothers wrong birthdate, you intentionally LIED.  Once you found out that you had to be at least 13, instead of being HONEST with the company and saying your brother wasn't 13 and you didn't know they had this requirement.  You tried to get around this requirement by LYING.  But they are much smarter than you and knew that something fishy was going on.  So to protect not only their interest but any interest of people you may be comitting identity theft against they required additional proof.

Oh as for the terms, okay so you didn't "fill anything out", but the card you purchased did have the terms enclosed or in some way instructed you how to get a copy of the terms.  You FAILED to do that, so again this falls on you and no one else.

As for the $10.90 you are out.  Consider this a very cheap "life lesson".  In that lying only makes things worse and can get you in more trouble.  Oh and of course before you enter into any sort of contract or attempt to open any type of account that you read and understand all of the terms before you do.

So in the end let me make this very clear.  You can say that I am "taking up for them".  But no matter how you twist it, that does not defect from the fact that you LIED.  Yes, let me say that again..you LIED, and that is why you are in this situation.  Oh, and yes I am very familar with the problems people have with these cards.  However, if you really look at a majority of the problems they all circle around similar issues.  The people who got the card did not read what they are agreeing to and are now upset that the company is trying to hold them to what they agreed to.

Your only saving grace here may be that you are not 18(which I think is a good possibility).  If that is the case then you to are a minor and can not enter into any contracts.  If this money is that important to you, you can inform your parents and they can deal with the company.  Most likely once you get your parents involved and they find out you are a minor they may give you all of the money back.  Then all you need to do is explain to your parents why you were doing this.

Not so funny

I wasn't filling anything out. It was all over the phone. I gave them the correct birthday and said he had to be over 13. So I had to use a different birthday cause the card was already in his name. Funny how you seen to know what I did but but have you facts all backwards. So, no. I read nothing over the phone as there was nothing to read. So there was nothing to accept at that time. So back to the original problem. If I never used their services, why am I paying for services. You seem to taking up for them awfully strongly. Have you not seen all the issues with theses cards even when the correct info was given. All I wanted was a full refund and I'm the bad guy?

No RipOff here...

It is amazing how you screw up by putting in the wrong information, but then turn around and blame them.  But it gets a bit more humerous, after all you apparently don't even know when your brother was born.  I bet that makes him feel really good.

But onto something a bit more serious.  Do you know who might put a wrong birthdate in?  Someone who is trying to commit identity theft.

So there is also a bit of irony here.   You are all but accusing them of Identity Theft.  Yet you are the one filling out the information for your brother, incorrectly.  Did you even read what you were filling out, as no where does it say "If you are doing this for someone else".  No it says things like "I"...as in "I accept", or "I am this person".

Oh and one other question.  If this was for your brother..why wasn't he there giving you all of this information?
