Pep Boys Rebates Rebates denied Cinnaminson New Jersey
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: Rebate info
The rebates for pep boys products and services are handled by a company in El Paso, TX and it seem that they look for reasons to deny legitimate rebates from customers. They come up with un-published rules which they use to deny the rebates. I have had to go to the local store to get the denied rebate paid out from the store. I brought my copies of the rebate form, receipt and rejection post card with me and after talking with service manager and store manager, I got my rebate paid to me. Talk about hassles and waisting of my time for rebate.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Rebate info

Pepboys contracts another company to handle it's rebates and rebate solutions. That company may have existing criteria for rebates, but everything should be written out on the rebate form. As long as you follow the requirements outlined in the rebate form then you are eligible for the rebate. While you may have experienced downtime, it sounds like you did get the rebate money back, though other customers have had similar issues with their rebates in the past.
I recommend everyone make copies of anything you sign or send off to get your rebate (i.e. receipts, rebate form, anything signed and sent for your rebate). Also make sure that you have met all of the requirements to receive the rebate and that such requirements are documented somewhere in writing. Make sure you have the name of the manager AND THE SERVICE WRITER YOU WORKED WITH.
If there is an issue with having to go back and forth or wasting time trying to get the rebate, and not the rebate money itself, then that should also be handled at a corporate level. I do advocate speaking to a store manager, but do know that the store itself has no control over the disbursement of rebates.
Cheers!
