I Think It is a total Rip OFF for Pepsi to sell public water are enhanced water. Aquafina is the same cost wholesale as Pepsi or Mountain Dew. Now they admit that the water comes from the public water source. What a scam. They should be ashamed.

actually knowing someone that works there

it is tap water, that is true, it goes through a exstensiver purification system and once it goes through that they can't even distribute that bottled water to the stores until it's been processed for well of two weeks to a months because it's done with pure oxygen which would cause stomach problems if you drank it before it's ready

JG...This is all new with Aquafina

JG,
This "purification" system is all new ONLY after they got busted selling "tap water".
Read the history.
Read the news articles.
Search for the investigations.
They are all readily available.

No, its NOT any kind of reverse osmosis.

It is nothing more than a fancy sediment filter.
Do you even know what "reverse osmosis" is?

Steve, I went to Aquafina.com

Click on "How we purify". If you click the link about their HYDRO system, there is a chart that shows their system, which is basically a fancy reverse osmosis system.

I suggest JG learns how to read before correcting others!

"JG",
Aquafina water is NOT processed by reverse osmosis as you stated.
And, the Aquafina bottle does not say anywhere that it is.
PepsiCo has been selling TAP WATER as "pure" water.
The label on the Aquafina bottle clearly said "pure water".
Learn how to read.

Advice for the idiots / PepsiCo shills
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, July 06, 2008
The whole point here is that PepsiCo was misleading the public in the labelling of their product. That was outright deception. The label purely said "PURE WATER" This was changed in 2007 only due to a consumer investigation due to complaints.

most bottled water

MOST bottled water is tap water or comes from the public water supply. grow up.

Not a ripoff...
AUTHOR: Electric President - (Canada)

People make money selling idiots things they could get for cheap.
For example: Treadmills.
How dare they offer treadmills when you can go running outside for free?
And what's with them selling oxygen tanks? Oxygen is naturally occurring and should be free!
This is case of buyer beware.
Read the bottles before assuming Aquafina is holy water blessed by the pope.
#6 Consumer Suggestion
No ripoff!
AUTHOR: J G Shrugged - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, July 03, 2008
Have you read the bottle? It describes the whole process!
It says the water comes from public water sources and then goes through their own reverse osmosis system! It doesn't say it's spring/artisan water which is different.

Tap Water as "Bottled Water"! Sounds like DISHONESTY to me!
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, July 03, 2008
PepsiCo comany, Tropicana fired me for "Dishonesty", which as of today they have not been able to substantiate.
However, they set the standard for "dishonesty" in so many ways!
Selling TAP WATER as Bottled Water [Aquafina].
I think the standard for dishonesty has just been set, and NOT by me!
