PJ RINKER Awful contractor who didn't complete work took off with $2,100.00 no contact THORNTON Colorado

Mr. Rinker, recommended by a friend, was hired to refinish my bathroom which at the time had a working toilet and sink.  Wanting him to place a shower inside the bathroom,  he stated he would need 1/2 up front and would take about a week to complete. I paid him his 1/2 that was requested.  Mr. Rinker worked about 16 hours total on the job removing the sink and toliet and one wall, doing a shotty job of framing the new wall.  It was unstable and actually wobbled when shook.  He failed to put a cap on the toliet flange, methane gas was present and left a wire exposed - very dangerous.  And did not follow code, according to the new contractor.  If Mr. Rinker had even made the most cursory effort in contacting me, I wouldn't be writing this today. 

This practice is commonly referred to as “tact” or “people skills” of which Mr. Rinker entirely lacked, and therefore I defend every word in this report.  Most reputable companies appreciate outside inputs, both for when praise is merited or when someone’s professional conduct is less than upscale. In this instance, his is unequivocally of the latter.

What do you make of this Mr. Rinker? Did I pretend to ignore you? Did I refuse to show appreciation to you and your crew?  Did I not pay?  

It is plainly evident Mr. Rinker had at his disposal everything it would have taken for even a mediocre professional to complete this job. It is disappointing for me to see that instead of moving to resolve this issue, he chose to further inflame it, by not returning my phone calls, making priorities of other jobs and stringing this job that should have taken a week into 3-4 months.  

This, I submit to you, reflects a lack of professionalism.

Now, out $2,100.00 and left with a completely unusable bathroom, please consider before hiring Mr. P.J. Rinker.
