Postorino Pool Service & Repair Home Pool Pump Repair Draining your wallet Scottsdale, Arizona

I have taken care of my pool pump cleaning system for several years.My system is a Hayward and is easy to take apart, clean and put back  together.  However, over the last month some of the pipes developed a couple of leaks and air was moving into the system.  Overall the the system needed some maintenance where I could not take the parts into the store.  I needed someone to come out my home.

A neighbor referred Postorino Pool Service so I gave them a call for service. The company quoted me a parts plus labor charge with a time limit. The labor charge was in-line with the standard in the industry.The company scheduled my service for a morning session and I took the day off to be at home.

The first issue was not major but annoying. This should have made me think twice about having them come out to my home.  The repairman was late and towards the afternoon I called the company.  They had no idea where the repairman was or when he would contact me.  However,I was assured he would be at my home around noon. True to the information, the repairman called and showed up at 12:00 noon on the dot.  The second issue is the one that drove me to write this item up for consumers

to "beware" of the company for it's pool services.

The total bill to fix my system was $268.00.  The repairman finished up at 1:00 pm exactly (i.e. the $85.00 labor charge).  Parts were itemized and they totaled $40.45 but one line item showed a part for $130.00?? Naturally I questioned what part was this?  After all, I have seen and  purchased pool parts before.  I was told it was a "repair job" that included additional parts and labor.  I reviewed the repair with the repairman and he showed me the repair included two PVC elbows and about 5' of 2"

PVC pipe and a plastic 2" male coupling to went into the pump housing.

My complaint...

1) I can not understand the $130.00 expense! (Remember the labor is already

   covered as a line item).

2) I agree there are part costs, but parts used for this repair could not

   have exceeded $30.00 max.

3) I called the company and asked them to break out this item in regards

   to parts and labor, total confusion abounded on the phone.  No explanation

   other than it is a new way we are invoicing our customers (Give me a break).

In summary, I believe I was ripped off.  There is no way this service should have cost me over $260.00.  I called and let the company know I was displeased and that I would pass the word to other consumers NOT to use POSTORINO POOL SERVICE IN TEMPEARIZONA.  The company basically said they were sorry and have a good day.  So here's my warning:

DO NOT USE POSTORINO POOL SERVICE IN TEMPE.... BUYER BEWARE

Please note, the repairman was very courteous, professional and did  a good job.  I have no issue with his repair services.  He was just following the new billing practices of the company (I think he should go out on his own).
