This thing is an incredible ripoff!  We expected to pay $99 as advertised on television and an additional $20 or so shipping cost on this as a Christmas present for an elderly friend and we got shipped a 50 lb box full of mostly crap we didn't want and got charged $184.80 for shipping!  That's right, a grand total of $284 when we were only expecting to pay around $120!  Clearly they fill the box with so much crap that when the customer sees it, they are overwhelmed by it and don't want to deal with it anymore and just accept the OUTRAGEOUS shipping cost as a lesson learned.  DON'T BUY THIS!  IT'S SUCH AN OBVIOUS RIPOFF WHEN YOU GET IT!

AUTHOR: Hearthware Becky - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 07, 2013

Hello, my name is Becky and I am the Social Media Marketing Manager for Hearthware, producers of the NuWave PIC. I just want to clarify that the free gifts offered with the PIC for just the cost of shipping and processing are certainly not mandatory. The customer can always decline. It is our policy to only ship items that customers explicitly agree to accept. If a customer chooses not to pay the S&P for an item, we do not include it in the shipped package. The basic offer is one PIC for $99.99 plus shipping, while the second is yours for just S&P. Induction cooktops and ranges can cost many thousands of dollars however we offer a state of the art product at a price most families and individuals can afford. Likewise the optional free gifts and accessories are a cut above in quality. The cookware set alone is a $300 value (compare with items of similar quality at Bed, Bath and Beyond) for example. We offer these items for just the cost of shipping to give customers an opportunity to have a
professional chef-quality kitchen on a middle class  budget.

If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email at facebook@hearthware.com. Please include your complete  order information along with any questions or concerns you may have.
