Premier Auction House Inc. The thing they pulled is what they call shilling. I bid on 2 items and then placed a max bid. The bid was supposed to only increase up to the max bid. I wasn't able to see any other bids, and they took my max bid as a final total. From what I can tell by other reviews, this is a common practice. I tried to get this straightened out with them, but all they did was ignore me and sent me a final invoice which I paid to avoid legal issues. I have done a lot of on line auctions, but this outfit gives a bad name to the honest houses. 3031 Placida Rd, Englewood, Florida 34224, United states premierauctionhouse.com

File a Complaint with the Florida Auction Commission

AUTHOR: AnAuctioneer - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, February 08, 2018

I did a quick internet search and found the Premier Auction states that they are licensed in Florida to conduct auctions.  The auction commission has a Recovery Fund.  You may be able to get your money back.

When you place a maximum bid, it may be that the auctioneer is Hosting a live auction also and you might not see every bid made.  They may also have received an Absentee Bid.  They may also state in their Terms they will/may increase bids at their discretion... in other words, if they feel you haven't paid enough, they will shill bid.  Shill bidding is illegal.  This is different from Reserve Bidding.

Read the Terms for any auction you participate in. Make sure you understand and agree with them.

I do want to note that you were comfortable placing a maximum bid. I'm not sure why you are unhappy about winning the item(s) at that bid?
