I received a bill from Premier Premium Communications for a 6 minute long distance phone call to +44 207 335 84 in United Kingdom for a pay per view website in the amount of $30.00.

I did not and do not make long distance calls on our home phone of any kind. I believe I have out of country phone block on our phone. I need to call Verizon on Monday to verify. We use only our cell phone for long distance. The bill says I called them for 6 minutes and was charged $30.00. If I do not pay by 12/3 they will charge a $4.95 late fee plus there may be charges of 1.99 a minute on our local phone bill. I will find out Monday when I call Verizon.

This is an invasion of my privacy and a complete waste of my time. I should be able to charge them $100.00 an hour for the time I am wasting on investigating this bogus bill sent through US Mail. My wife is in the other room watching a movie while I get steamed up about being cheated and sent a bill that I should not have received and if I do not pay up they are going to add $4.95 per month to the bill!!!

Any advise on what I should do about this bogus bill is much appreciated & shut these people down!!!!

Thank You,

Dan

#5 Consumer Suggestion

Annie, read the comment on the other complaint page!

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 05, 2004

Search for One web direct. Use the search button at top.

Read the comment I wrote. It explains how the modem dialed out. It's too long to repeat here.

It probably will happen to you again. I get viruses all the time. Hell, for a while there, I was formatting my computer every week! Now, I found a way around that.

In order for the modem dialer con to have all these victims, the virus must be on hundreds of different sites. I actually had the modem dialer on my computer once. I forget what the hell I clicked on to get it.

Since I'm too cheap to buy a phone, the dialer can't ever call out. But, it screwed up my computer. I had to stop and format again. That's how I got rid of the dialer.

So, no, if you're on the internet, you WILL get viruses. I just wrote a whole, long comment on how to solve this problem. But, this site didn't put it up. I guess internet viruses aren't a specific fraud. Or else the complaint was too long.

Either way, if you're on the internet, you need to be prepared for these problems!

how do i prevent this from happening again?

AUTHOR: Annie Rose - (U.S.A.)

After I report this fraud to the BBB, Attny General, and FBI how do I make sure that this doesnt happen to me again? I dont see how a dialer could have been installed on my computer and dialed out of country when I dont even have long distance dialing capabilities. Could someone tell me how to find the dialer and get rid of it? thanks

It's the stupid modem dialer con again!

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

I can't believe nobody has put these crooks out of business!

Search here, at top, for One web direct. Read my comments.

Don't pay a freakin' dime. F them and their stupid fake collection agency. Don't send anything or spend one minute worrying about these losers.

You'll probably have to format to get rid of the dialer.

You know, this is unbelievable. I don't know why anybody even bothers with the federal agencies at all. They never do anything about the fraud.

These same porn frauds started out as National one telecom. Now, they're this premier nonsense. They didn't even bother to find a new fake address. It's the exact same thing as before.

Why did they even bother to change names? Nobody is after them. Hell, they could put a dialer on every computer in America, and nothing would be done to them.

I see, it's up to the victims not to pay!

Pop up Rip Off

AUTHOR: Reinhold - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 05, 2004

I have received a bill from Premier Premium Communications for a four minute paid per view long distance call to the United Kingdom
+44 207 335 84.

I recall having been on the Internet when an unsolicited pop up website appeard. As soon as I reconized that it was an adult site I tried to close the site.

I was not able to do so and had to turn the computer off without going through the proper shutdown proceedure therby compromising my computer files.

The bill is for a four minute charge for twenty dollars. They also will make a late charge
if I dont pay by 12/20/2004.

On the back of the bill they are also threatening with turning this over to an collection agency and reporting the deliquency to the credit bureau(s).

Do I have to pay this bill. Do you have any suggestions and how can I prevent any future problems without going as far as not going on the Internet any longer.

I had 4 calls instead of just 1 so my bill was 120.00

AUTHOR: Amanda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 15, 2004

I received a bill from the same company, same phone number dialed, same amount of time, only I had 4 calls instead of just 1 so my bill was 120.00. Do not pay this. Go to their website (www.premierpremium.com) and send an e-mail to the customer complaint department (they do not accept complaints over the phone). No matter what they tell you, refuse to pay, ignore their tactics of telling you that a worker, a child, a guest, etc could have done it. DEMAND a credit to your account. Then file a complaint with the FCC, FTC, BBB, and your states Attorney General. I know it's a lot of hassle, but I have gotten numerous bills from several different companies all for over seas calls. If you do research, most of these companies are in a lawsuit with the FCC or being investigated by the FBI or have had numerous complaints filed against them. Keep fighting it and make sure you document all dates, times, names of persons spoke with, and save all e-mails from the company just so if the charges reoccur after you have been given a credit you will have the proof.
