Todd McCabe of Prestige Pool Plastering, LLC (now Prestige Pool Contracting) completely ripped us off. We hired him to replaster our pool with a pebble tec like material. He left us with our pool empty for over a month before he even showed up. After he prepped the pool, he req'd 75% check to finish. We paid, and again, could not be contacted. After we threatened lawsuit, the workers showed up and plastered the pool. They got plaster all over our truck, house, fence, patio. Then we never heard from Todd again. He never inspected the pool, nor did he go over the care instructions for the chemicals, etc. He would not return our calls. Then we got a bill in the mail saying we owed them money!!

Meanwhile, we had to pay to have all of the plaster removed from our personal properties. We never paid and he never pushed the issue becasue he actually owed us more than we owed him. Our pool looks horrible. We have had a bunch of pool companies over to look atit because it looks so bad. All have said the plaster was done wrong and it needs to be redone. Actually, Todd is well known in this insutry for screwing up pools and leaving people with no recourse. The truth is he has done this to a number of people. The only evidence we have is an email and our personal check that he cashed. He refuses to talk to us. We are out $4875 and we have to pay and go through the hastle of having it done again.

The real truth to Chuck's pool

AUTHOR: Prestige Pool Plastering - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Chuck contacted us back on 9-13-2006 and wanted just an estimate over the phone for sandblasting and replastering his pool. We gave him an approximate price assuming the info he gave us was true. Then again on 3-12-2007 he contacted us again and Todd went out and gave them a price on sandblasting and replastering the pool. Then his wife called back and wanted to know how much it would be without sandblasting the pool. I assumed they would get another company cheaper to sandblast or maybe do it themselves. We do not plaster over paint because it will eventually fall off the walls and that was conveyed to them. Now if we were trying to rip them off, why didn't we just go ahead and plaster over the paint?

We are extremely busy in the spring, but they were taking their sweet time making the decision on what they wanted to do. Remember, his first call to us was on 9-13-2006.

The pool was sandblasted on 4-24-07 after waiting on them to make the decision whether we would sandblast and plaster or our company would just plaster. On 4-25-07 the sand was cleaned out and the pool was cleaned. Before sandblasting, the pool was nasty and in terrible shape and I have the pictures to prove it.

On our proposal, it does state that we will require 25% deposit then 50 % payment when the pool is sandblasted and prepped. The remaining 25% was due on the day of plaster. Which we never received.

I have an email dated 5-1-07 asking him if he had a pool service or did he maintain his pool himself. It also stated that if he did not have a company to service the pool, it listed detailed instructions on what to do and what chemicals to put in the pool and what pH level it needed to be at. He was also supposed to brush the pool daily for 10-14 days after being replastered. Who knows if he even did that.

I am sure he did not keep the chemicals where they needed to be due to the condition of the pool in the beginning of the process of renovating his pool.

The pool was plastered on 5-9-07. He said there was concrete on his pickup truck and it was going to cost him $1600.00 to get it fixed. The spot was the size of a pencil head. He was just looking for a new paint job.

So all the sudden he calls the office about a month ago and wants to pay what he owes us so he can have a warranty on the pool. I told him there was no warranty when you don't pay and who knows if you have been taking care of your pool or not. You certainly were not taking care of it before.

If anybody is a scamster it is you, trying to get something for free when you don't even take care of your pool.

Also we are listed in Hampton and Jonesboro because we moved the warehouse and our office and we had to have our old number forwarded because that is the number that is in our advertising.

We have done numerous large projects such as Georgia Tech, West Gwinnett Aquatic Center, Lifetime Fitness, Perimeter Church, Salvation Army and I could go on and on. But they don't seem to have any problems with their pools. Maybe because they maintain their pools and actually take care of them.

If you continue to lie and slander our company, we will see you in court.
