I purchased a Quantum 6000z wheelchair from Pride Mobility Corp. in November of 2010 and in January of 2011, my foot fell of the foot rest and was crushed under the front caster. The foot rest for this wheelchair is poorly designed, when you hit a bump there is a chance that your foot will fall off the footrest.
The front casters are so big and so close to the foot rest that once your foot is off the foot rest it is swept under the wheelchair. I am paralyzed and didn't know my foot fell off the foot rest until it was too late. Pride refuses to acknowledge this design flaw and blames me for the injury.

My name is Corey Lewis and I serve as moderator to Pride and Quantum Rehabs Owners Club. Im sorry to hear that you have had some trouble. I looked into things on our end and it is my understanding that you spoke with Lisa regarding your situation.
As she explained, there are numerous foot rigging options available for the Q6000Z that provide varying levels of leg and foot support depending on a clients diagnosis. There is even a foot box that works in conjunction with the footplate to help clients with limited range of motion in their lower extremities to help keep their feet in place.
It was also my understanding that she explained we were willing to work with your provider to provide you with a solution more suitable to your needs.
That said, there is no issue with the design of the foot platform. It works very well for its intended application. I hope you will consider our offer to work with you and your provider to ensure that you are using the foot rigging option that best meets your needs.
