I hate Primestar, Direct TV, I think it is time for a class action.
I really don't care what it costs, I have a consultation with an attorney. I'm willing to pay the price to tear the scammers apart. I hate your scams. Sick and tired of their ripoffs.

Prime Tv has been fired!

I work for Direct Tv as an entertainment consultant, and I am very happy to let you know that prime tv will no longer be doing installations for Direct TV!! I have worked for dtv for about 2 years now, and about 40 percent of my calls were about unhappy customers due to problems with prime tv. Prime tv would use deceptive tactics to make a sale, which dtv had to deal with. Take my advice, always speak directly with the company that you intend on doing business with, rather than other companies looking to make a quick sale. Other than prime tv, there are plenty of honest installation companies eager to help you get set up. However, making a call to dtv specifically first about needed equipment for locals, discounts, opinions about installers you have chosen, and confirmation of what you may have been promised is not a bad idea. Take charge of your purchase, it's your money being spent!!!

Prime TV's dishonest sales practices are well known and ongoing. In particular, their rebate is a false promise. Also according to Todd, they are often unable to make a properly working "professional installation", although they make sure to collect and keep a $99.00 installation fee.
DirecTV must have contracts in place to control who uses their name in advertisements and retails their equipment and service. If this is the case, and since they do not exercise these rights with Prime TV, I conclude that DirecTV is willing to use *any means necessary* to enlist more customers. They know that most if not all of the customers who go through PrimeTV will be disappointed and ripped off. But they don't care enough to do anything about it other than what little it takes to make sure the customer keeps paying the monthly bills.

Directv is NOT Primetv!!!

Please understand that Directv and Primetv are two totally separate companies. I am a field supervisor for a Directv HSP and I too hear several complaints about Primetv installations from both customers and my techs. Primetv is a third party seller of Directv services. Directv pays them for every new customer they get for us. Unfortunately, this means that they will tell the customer whatever they want to hear so that they can get that paycheck from Directv. It also means that we have to do a lot of cleaning up after them in order to keep the customers happy, which is our ultimate goal. Once Primetv has the customer installed and activated, they no longer seem to care. I have had to send my techs out to Primetv installs because they never worked, my tech has to completely reinstall the system, and Directv only pays for a service call fee ($25), even though the tech really had to do a full install. I guess what I am asking is for you the customer not to lump Directv in with Primetv. We care very much about our customers, and will go out of our way for you. I have even personally called Primetv several times myself to complain on a customer's behalf and will continue to do so. Once you get past the bad first impression that Primetv has left, please remember that Directv will take care of you and I am sure you will be pleased with your service!
