Progressive Auto Insurance CA Progressive auto insurance CA, will make you pay for a lapse in coverage by including the balance in your new 6 month premium and then refuses to cover you even though that balance was included in your renewal policy stockton California
*General Comment: Something not quite right here....
I renewed my policy and paid the 6 month premium balance. Progressive sent me a letter saying if i paid the balance that i would be covered without a lapse in coverage. So I go to pay my 6 month premium which included the balance owing for the lapse period then tells my I am not covered until midnight which ny new policy takes aaffect. Can they do that? Take my money and tell me I'm not covered even though i paid it? Anyone else have this problem with their insurance company?

Maybe I'm missing something- your insurance lapsed, so you agreed to pay the full amount for 6 months, but then they told you that your insurance wouldn't actually kick back in until midnight- and you have a problem with this why, exactly? You let your insurance lapse, and suddenly you are eager to pay it and are angry that you don't have instantaneous coverage but must wait until midnight of the same day....I suspect that you had an accident and that this is the reason you were so anxious to get coverage, and you wanted your insurance company to pay for it even though you were not covered (by your own choice) at the time. I can't see any other reason why anyone would object to having to wait a few hours for coverage to kick in...but if you were so concerned about being continuously covered, why did you let your policy lapse?
