The boat my son and I own had some items STOLEN from it back in May 2013. Contacted police first of June. Progressive was contacted shortly thereafter. After 6 weeks, of JUMPING through their hoops, they want more documentation. I have given pictures, serial #'s and proof of purchase, receipts of items stolen. They still have not responded with payment. They have fired a least 1 AGENT because of this. I am now on the 4th one. He wants access to my complete financial records. This is a company that PRIDES itself on being there for their customers. I have sold my stock in them as of today. Time to get litigious with them. It seems the only way that they comply with the contract between them and the insured.

Exactly why was someone fired specifically for how they handled your case? Because if one was fired for how they were handling your case..one would figure that the next one would pay your claim..yet nothing.
I also noticed how you said you gave them...Serial #'s, pictures, proof of purchase and receipts. Yet one thing is quite noticeably missing...the police report? So the police did take a report right? What did the report state?
Obviously something in your case triggered a few red flags.
Perhaps it is how the items were stolen, after all if this was out in the open on the deck that is a lot different than being locked up in a storage chest bolted to the deck. Perhaps the police said that the circumstances were "suspicious" and may not have occured.
Perhaps it is the amount of time you had your insurance with them..again if you had this insurance for just a few weeks and all of the sudden are claiming thousands(?) of dollars in stolen items..that again would raise some red flags.
Perhaps it was the amount of time between the time they were stolen and when you contacted the police. Because you said this happened in May but did not contact them until June. One would usually expect that if you would report to the police as soon as you found out..which according to you was in May.
Perhaps it is something else you are totally leaving out?
