Promdress.me.uk False Advertising, Bait and Switch, Scam-Do not Buy! California

Promdress.me.uk's website features a tightly fitted dress which can only be made of a polyester elastic blend material that is clearly flowy (meaning the dress flows like a wave) and is light mauve in color.  Even the description of the dress provided on the website indicates that the dress is made of “elastic satin”. So I provided measurements with my original order and someone named “Feng Haihong” responded to confirm my measurement of Hips 34’, waist 27”, bust 36”, hollow to floor 51”, height 5’1”

The dress I received was:

1)      Shipped to me from China (even though their website clearly attempts to mislead the customer to believe they are located in the U.K. (see attached original packaging sent with my dress).

2)      Not the dress pictured. It is either a knockoff or simply false advertisement .  The focal point of the dress is the back of the dress and the knot on the brown dress (the dress sent to me) is clearly not the same as the knot on the mauve dress (the dress advertised on “promdressmeuk” website).

3)      Not made to my specifications. Before sending “promdressmeuk” my measurements, I had a professional seamstress measure me for this dress, so the dress should fit me perfectly. It clearly is too large and the company simply sent me a pre-made dress. Actual measurements: waist 29”, hips 36”.

4)      Made of nylon or polyester blend and has no movement at the bottom. This is because although the company indicated the material is “elastic satin”, it had no elastic (stretchy)  material in the dress.  

5)      Even if the measurements were correct, it could not fit like the imaged and advertised dress, because the dress material was not as advertised.

I followed “promdressmeuk” return policy procedures and wrote to their company. I requested to return the dress, asked for a return label and refund. I received one response, which asked me to send pictures. After I sent the pictures, I received no response to my request for return. They continue to ignore my emails.

This company is either a knock-off dress making company from China or simply a company formed to de-fraud consumers.  The company attempts to say that "pixilation differences on computers account for the differences in the advertised dress and the actual dress". This is a falsity I have viewed the dress and site from five different devices, which are both PC and MAC, at my law firm and home. Promdress.me.uk is a scam.  Furthermore, the numerous photos and printed images of their website that I printed from the previously mentioned various computers indicate that this company simply misrepresented the dress they were selling me and misrepresented their ability to custom-make the dress.  Promdressmeuk’s website also indicates that they provide “the highest quality material and designs”, but this is simply untrue.  In fact, they provided me with a cheap, poorly made-in-china dress that I could have easily purchased from the fashion district in downtown Los Angeles for $20. 

Do not buy from this company. You will be disappointed.
