I was at work when I received a phone call from publishers buisness services telemarketers, and misunderstood them agreeing to their service. I than received a bill of an amount that I was sure I did not agree too, I called to complain and explained that it was wrong to call one at their work place, being distracted and having other calls coming in I agreed to quickly get off the phone.

In my call of complaint I learned that I can not receive a refund because they already fronted my $720.00 worth of five years of magazines. (note: how to front the money for magazines that aren't even published yet five years in advance, I'm confused on this). I tried everything I could to get out of the agreement and was talking to the customer service rep. for over thirty minutes. He seemed sympathic with my issue but explained that he couldn't do, and offered me a discount rate if I paid a total amount of $161.46 for a period of three months. I came to the conclusion that I learned a very expensive lesson, since than my anwser to any other telemarketer is hang up fast. I now regret giving the customer service rep. my account info and we'll probably be changing my account number.

I was charged $161.46 for three months, which I authorized them to do so, but when the forth month came I was charged again for the same amount. I noticed this when I was charged an over draft free from my bank. I thought that my payments with this company were paid in complete and the fourth month wasn't expecting a charge, therefore didn't budget it in my checking. I was pist. Than I received a statement stating that I still owe the remaining $64.? and if I didn't summit a payment by the date given they would be sending my info to collections. I called instantly, with my card ready to pay over the phone, I want to keep a good credit record. As I was talking to the billing rep. I explained to him my situration and that I had thought I had already paid the three months, and he looked up my info and said that I do not owe them anything my balance is $0.00 and I have completed all my payments, I questioned the fourth month charge and he told me it was a mistake and in his computer he see's a credit back of the $57.73 charged, I looked at my bank statements and there has not yet been a credit back in this amount from them.

I feel this company first scamed, than ripped off, and now stole from me. Because of their mistake, I must also say that I had an additional $25.00 from my bank for an over draft fee. I am in hope but dought this company will pay me that fee as well. I was a good customer settling with them with the three payments, never complaint about the irregular magazine deliveries, I just wanted to clear my name and balance, I could careless about the magazines. But now that the company stole from me I'm very upset, and fear that since they have my account info it will be charged again the following month. anyone who gets this phone call, hang up your better off going to the nearest grocery store to buy the magazine you want, and if you already agreeed, don't give them your acct info write checks, make a copy and keep them so they don't do the same to you
