Puppies And More Puppy Mill Poor Quality Puppies for more! Dalton Georgia

I have a champion bloodlines male cockerspaniel and wanted to purchase a female cockerspaniel for breeding purposes. I waited several months before picking out the perfect puppy. Once I located my pup online, I called the owner discussed the health and quality of the puppy. The owner told me that the puppy was in top shape; I questioned if the puppy ever had cherry eye or any ailments I should be aware of and I was told no. I paid the deposit of $200 and was satisfied.

A couple of weeks later, I get a call from family that a close member of my immediate family passed away. This is the day I am supposed to pick up my new puppy, 9/28/07. The owner says, getting the puppy will make you feel better come on day she's waiting on you. Okay, so she talked me into it, I drive what was supposed to be a 2 hour drive but ended up 4 hours due to traffic. I get to Puppies and more and there's my beautiful pup, who is scrony, underweight and sick! I questioned the croop she had and she told me it was tonsilitis from crying too much. (yeah right!) At this point my deposit is non-refundable and I drove 4 hours, it's safe to assume the puppy had Kennel Cough. Well I know Kennel Cough is a quick fix and the owner was overly nice and even gave me the medicine for tonsilitis. (yeah right). I told her that I would not be able to honor the 48 hour vet visit because of the death in my family but would take her immediately upon returning. She said fine and we headed back to Atlanta.

Well, it took the puppy 2-3 days to get over 103 fever; she wouldn't even walk. I was beginning to get nervous but I was out of town tending to family. We get back on Wednesday and I notice a red bukge in her eye; I know it's cherry eye and now I am furious! I called the owner and exclaimed that I questioned was there a history of this in the litter she told me no! It's irresponsible to breed a dog with Cherry eye, so of course, I ran her to the Vet on Wednesday. Well here's what the dog actually has: Kennel Cough (not tonsilitis only humans get that), severe yeast infection w/ear mites in both ears and cherry eye. I call the owner back livid and said and it looks like it maybe developing in the 2nd eye. She exclaims, "that can't be, I have already repaired the other eye"! I screamed what??? You sold me an $800 dog that had been in surgery and under anesthesia and never told me this and gave me a clean bill of health record on this puppy? She then gets nervous because she realizes she told me the truth for the 1st time since our initial encounter, she refuses to pay the doctor charges, she refuses to do anything to make this right. I ended up paying $800 for the dog, $250 to find out what was wrong, $275 for the cherry eye repair & spaying (can't breed her) and you can't imagine any other expenses like food (special because of a weak immune system) Since then, I have had to take off of work to nurse this charity case, I have had to put in many hours of loving time with a pup who obviously was neglected since she was only 5lbs at 13 weeks.

Sasha is now 5 months old, 15 lbs and terribly fragile but absolutely beautiful. My Vet advised the weight pickup was so immediate because she was malnourished. I tell you what, she is definitely a puppymill cockerspaniel and not worth the $800 I spent to revive her. She was worth a lot less but because I am a animal lover, I would do this inspite of. These are despicable people, it literally has taken until the last couple of weeks for her to even come to me. I would never purchase another animal from these people.

Til this date, these folks have still not made good on this deal. Again, I would totally recommend that noone purchase from a petstore especially one that is family owned in Dalton, GA because they hide behind their local laws to cover the lies they tell innocent consumers like myself.
