I purchased two sphynx kittens from this breeder & they both arrived sick and with no vaccination records until two months later... (after my many requests for this paperwork). Initially they both were diagnosed with severe upper respiratory infections & conjunctivitus in one’s eye. Then after several rounds of different antibiotics, medications, relapsing, and a second opinion later they were diagnosed with Feline Herpes & F Calicivirus. And the one with the eye issue diagnosed with a large eye ulcer. The whole process was difficult from the start, beginning with the lack of clear communication, changing the flight day multiple times resulting in me taking off days of work, switching cats at the last minute due it having a health issue which I did agree to, but found frustrating. Then the shipping disaster... there was an issue with the plane so they were left in Delta pet cargo overnight without food(she did feed them right before leaving them) before the seller finally responded the next morning to Delta’s many calls(per Delta personnel). I was told by Delta I could not do anything because I wasn’t the one that booked the flight, & that they could not keep the kittens there any longer without food/care so would transport them to a 24 hour care facility. Only when I called the number Delta gave me, they said they don’t allow cats... by the time I was able to finally change the flight for them, they ended up being in cargo then flight for over 24 hours.
After way too much back & forth with the seller who still refuses to accept any responsibility, even after sending a demand letter from my attorney, I am still left with kittens that have life-long contageous viruses and require constant vet visits and care. She offered for me to ship them back at my own expense after all the heartache/time/energy & thousands I’ve already spent. Nevermind how attached I am to them. She also finally agreed to reimbursing one third for each also, but she never actually did. Pay Pal dispute was my only option. And I cannot ship them anywhere with their conditions, nor do I want to start the process all over again with potentially more sick kittens shipped to me on my own dime. Meanwhile, every time they finish a medication they just relapse over and over again. The one with an eye ulcer I will have to take to a opthamologist to resolve, & the other kitten still struggles breathing. Considering I paid nearly $5000 for them with shipping included & she "guarantees” 3 year health, it’s absolutely unacceptable & the contract doesn’t address the situation of the case in point- she did not ensure they got on the plane or respond timely to Delta’s calls & therefore if the viruses were contracted before or during their long stressful cargo stay, she is responsible. I have plenty of evidence I can submit to support this claim.
